Spike, Season One

Episode One- I love you

Buffy and Spike are the only ones left in the hellmouth. Spike is still glowing from the amulet, sending rays of light out into the hellmouth. Buffy stands in front of him, staring, still holding her scythe. 

Spike: Go on, then. 

Buffy: No. No, you've done enough. You could still— 

Spike: No, you've beat them back. It's for me to do the cleanup. 

The walls are crumbling around them.

Spike: Gotta move, lamb. I think it's fair to say school's out for bloody summer. 

Buffy: Spike! 

Spike: I mean it! I gotta do this. 

He holds out his hand to stop her. Buffy laces her fingers through Spike's hand and they burst into flame together. 

Buffy softly looks into his eyes

Buffy: I love you. 

Spike is very surprised by her saying this. He doesnt think twice and he tears his necklace off. 

He puts his jacket over his head and runs with her to the bus. 

Buffy and Spike are running along the rooftops of the shopping mall as the bus drives down the street. The buildings are collapsing behind them as they try to catch up to the bus. they leap from building to building, buffy is still carrying the scythe, Spike holds onto her and then finally jumps toward the street, landing on the bus with her.

Faith looks out the window of the bus.

Faith: ease off. We're clear. 

The bus screeches to a halt with Buffy and Spike still clinging to the top. 

Principal Wood, who was driving even though he was wounded, turns the ignition off, leans back in his chair and sighs

Buffy jumps down off the top of the school bus and looks around. Spike soon follows.

 Dawn opens the emergency exit door at the back of the bus and jumps down to give Buffy a warm hug. 

Giles looks around down the street behind them.

Giles: I don't understand. Who did this? 

Spike: Uh, i did.. right before i ran so far away

Everyone looks at him confused.

Spike: its a song reference.

He rolls his eyes.

The "Welcome to Sunnydale" sign falls over into the big hole that was sunnydale

Xander walks up to Andrew as he gets off the bus

Xander:  So, did you see? 

Andrew: I—I was scared. I'm sorry.

 Xander: Did you see what happened? I mean, was she... 

Andrew looks at Xander. 

Andrew: She was incredible. She died saving my life.

Xander puts his hand on Andrew's shoulder and nods 

Xander: That's my girl. Always doing the stupid thing. 

Andrew smiles a little. 

Faith walks up to Robin Wood, who's slumped over in the driver's seat.

 Faith: It's not bad. You just sit here. I'll get someone to— 

Robin: Hey... did we— did we make it?
