"Lord Seventh, this is the data we downloaded from the container aboard the airship. It might provide some clues." Konohamaru pulled a scroll from his pocket, eager to report the mission's events to the Hokage.

"Understood. I'll send this to the Cipher Corps for analysis." Shikamaru took the scroll from Konohamaru.

"And now... what do we do with the boy I informed you about?" Konohamaru asked.

"He has the same mark that Kawaki has, right?" Sai inquired.

"That's right." Konohamaru nodded. "He called it a karma. We considered bringing him to the village, but for safety reasons, we're having him examined at the lab in Ryutan."

"We can't let someone we know nothing about into the village. That was a good call." Shikamaru agreed.

"It seemed like the Kara were after him. They referred to him as 'the vessel.' It looks like he's important to them." Konohamaru sighed, recalling the details from the previous day.

"They're after him, huh? I wonder if that's really accurate. According to your report, he has violent tendencies and will lash out with intent to kill." Shikamaru mused, contemplating their next move.

"But he's still a child, right? We shouldn't be suspicious based on that information alone." Naruto concluded.

"No," Shikamaru disagreed. "We should anticipate every scenario and be cautious. Wishful thinking will only invite danger."

Naruto looked at a photo on his desk, a snapshot of happier times with Hinata and Boruto taken days before Boruto disappeared.

"Thank you for reporting, Konohamaru. I'll take it from here." Naruto stood from his desk and nodded.

Boruto woke up in a hospital gown, his hands cuffed to prevent him from using his Karma.

"Damn it!" he cursed, frustrated at being contained. He stood up and banged his cuffs on the door, desperately trying to escape. Tight spaces always unnerved him.

"Damn you!" Boruto screamed at the door. "I don't have the strength. Usually, I could knock down a door like this!"

Suddenly, vapor filled the room, and he slowly lost consciousness, the mist putting him to sleep.

Boruto jolted awake, cursing under his breath as he realized he was still in the same room. "Why can't I use my Karma?"

The door opened to reveal the boy with the Karma mark from earlier, a purple-haired girl, and a pale-skinned boy with light blue hair.

"Oh, it's you guys," Boruto sneered.

"We've brought you some food." The purple-haired girl offered a tray. "Though it might be difficult to eat while handcuffed."

Boruto eyed the food warily, too hungry to ignore it but suspicious it might be poisoned.

The girl offered him a spoonful of soup, but Boruto kicked it away, sending the tray crashing to the ground and spilling the food everywhere.

"What do you think you're doing?" The blonde and black-haired boy yelled.

"It's poisoned or something, right? I'm not eating that shit!"

"No way. We wouldn't poison you," the girl cried, genuinely offended.

"Where am I?" Boruto demanded. "What are you trying to do by keeping me here?"

"We're not trying to do anything! But we can't release someone we know nothing about!" The boy yelled back, gripping Boruto's shoulder painfully.

"Kawaki! Stop!" the blue-haired boy hissed.
