Sesame Street. Her dad always turned on this show... She didn't really mind the show, but she was already four years old! She thought that was too old to watch this show. Her dad was asleep on the couch. Like usual. Either he was at work or sleeping... *Bark* *Bark*
She looked over her shoulder at her dog, Shelby. She was standing in the doorway, staring at the couch. Getting up, the girl walked over to her dog. Shelby was so much bigger than she was, but she was gentle, at least with her.
"What's the matter?" At four years old she had mastered the art of English speech, having no trouble pronouncing any words. Shelby whimpered, obviously troubled by something. Then she realized, it was about the time Shelby usually went out to potty!"Oh! I'll let you out girl!" But... she made one mistake. She ran to the FRONT door. They didn't have a fence in the front yard... Shelby ran out the door but didn't stop to pee. "Shelby? Come back! Where are you going!" She heard movement behind her and turned around.
"Why are you yelling? And why is the front door open?" Her father had woken up from all the yelling. She couldn't hold back her tears. She pointed out the door and tried to tell him what was wrong, but he couldn't understand her. Finally, she calmed down enough to explain."Shelby had to pee and... and I let her out... but I let her out and she ran away!"
And that was the end of that memory...
