_________The sun didn't show through Don's black-out curtains. I turned to see Don sitting up in bed, looking lost in thought. "Hey." He didn't look at me. "Hey." At that moment, I decided to forgive him. What he did was awful, but necessary. Not only for us to be together, but for the good of the world. He would have been putting the wizarding people in danger by leaving power to Draco.
He knew what he needed to do, and he did it. Regardless of his personal emotions. He was a man.
I sat up in the bed and hugged him. "I love you." He didn't hug me back. "Don't." I looked at him shocked, then sat in front of him, forcing his eyes to mine. "What? No!" He looked me in the eyes. "I killed him. I killed him for power." Tears welled up in my eyes in remembrance of Draco's death. "No. You killed him because you had to." He didn't falter. "I became what my parents raised me to be. A power-hungry killing machine."
I cupped his face with my hands. "Baby...you did this for us. For the good of the world. We both know that you would be a better ruler than Draco. His win would not just affect us, but the whole world." I completely straddled his lap and pulled him to my chest. "Please...when I fall, catch me, darling." I looked at him. "What do you mean?" He sighed and caressed my cheek.
"There is no doubt in my mind that one day I will lose my sense of morality. I will fall. And when I do, I'm asking that you catch me." He kissed me and I kissed him back. " I will...I promise"
Our kisses weren't filled with lust. They were filled with love. We both knew that our lives were about to change, our lives were about to be bonded together. "Ariah?" I looked at him out of breath from the kiss. "Yes?" He brushed some hair from my face.
"Will you marry me?" I knew we would be married after the ordeal, but a proper proposal was a big surprise to me. Nodding my head I kissed him hard. "yes...Yes!" He chuckled and pulled me close. "My baby girl." We continued hugging for a while before he said "We need to pack up your things from Hogwarts." I pulled away and looked at him with knitted eyebrows. "What?" He cupped my face and gave a sentimental look.
"It's too dangerous for you to continue schooling after word gets out about us. It's for your own good, my love." I sat up and crossed my arms in front of my chest. "I don't want to stop going to school! Why can't we just stall the announcement until after we are married? That way, I'll be able to finish this year." He took a moment and nodded, then dropped his head to my level. "We have settled on an agreement, yet you still have that damning pouty lip. Why?"
"Because you made this huge decision without even consulting me." I got off his lap and walked to the bathroom. The door slammed shut and I started brushing my teeth angrily.
He opened the door cautiously with his hand on the back of his head. "Babe..." I ignored him and leaned over further into the sink. All my hair was flipped to one side, in an attempt to block him from my view.
"Look, I'm sorry, Sweetheart. I shouldn't have done that." I rolled my eyes as he stepped behind me. I spit out the foamy paste and raised my head to a natural position, his head now buried in my neck.
I sighed and leaned into his touch, my back on his chest. "Do you know why I'm mad?" He groaned and looked at me from the mirror. "Yes, baby. I shouldn't have just assumed that you would go along with my plan. I should have asked you." I turned around and wrapped my arms around his neck. " Good boy."
