Betty looked across the red and white cafeteria. Her eyes landed on Archie with his football teammates, but specifically of his arms on Veronica Lodge's chair. Such a simple gesture, yet it pained her. Veronica is a pretty girl. Her tan skin and short curly black hair. Her strong eyebrows and walk gave out so much confidence. She's stunning. She was wearing a short skintight black dress that stopped just below her butt. Her cleavage was exposed in the heart neckline that dipped down. Seeing Archie's arm around her slim petite body sadden her. Archie must have felt her stare as he looked back. Their eyes interlocked. Betty was scanning his trying to find something there, but she couldn't. He looked away and continued talking to his friends.

"You know, I don't know how you can deal with that." Selena said as she drank her juice box.

"Yeah, he treats you like...girl you already know." Danielle chimes.

"I don't know. It's been weird." Betty said sadly.

"Yeah, since the beginning of the school year. It's December already, are y'all going to start being a normal couple again?" Camille asked.

"I get it..." Betty said, sadly eating her fries.

"Sorry Betty, we didn't mean to be harsh. That Veronica is just sus." Danielle said.

"For real. She just transferred a few months ago and has no reason to be surrounded by all seniors. She a whole sophomore." Camille snicker.

"Yeah...enough about me...Selena, how's Leila?" Betty said, trying to avoid the Archie topic.

"She's doing amazing. Her hair is getting darker everyday like her dad."

"And Mason?"

"He's so great with Leila, but I feel like I rarely see him. He's constantly working and when he's not, he's at school, but we only have second period together."

"That's terrible, but Sel, put yourself in his shoes. You're both 17, living on your own, still in high school raising your daughter. He's trying his best to provide and support you both." Betty said.

"I know...I just wish we can spend more time together. You know...?"

"Trust me, I do." Betty said sadly.

"Enough moping you too. I know what will cheer us up." Camille grinned.

"Oh god." Danielle put her face in her palms.

"SHOPPING!" Camille said happily. "We should get ready for the Winter Formal on Friday. We are already pretty late in schedule."

"You know what..let's do it. We deserve it." Betty joined in.

"I can't this week though. My dad is making me have dinner with his wife." Danielle said.

"Let's shop after school then. Leila is at my mom's." Selena said.

"Ahhh, deal, deal, deal!" Camille smile, biting her fry.

Then the bell rung.

Betty, Danielle , Selena and Camille all went into the van and drove to a local dress shop—Lior May. It had the prettiest gowns and even customized handmade dresses.

The girls were in aw. It was beautiful. There were dresses for all body types and different styles. It felt like they were there for hours because they couldn't choose a dress.

"Wow Sel, you look stunning!" Betty squealed.

"For real, red is your color."

"Thanks girls, I don't know though...I'm not sure if I'm going to prom. It's so expensive." Selena said quietly.
