The Glowing Aura

The corridor of time was vast, infinite one could say even. The corridor made time flow differently for those in it, time spent inside this corridor could be drastically different from time outside. Cal, sitting alone in the bleak environment of the corridor wondered if he would ever leave. Khonsu had locked Cal in the corridor of time an unknown amount of days ago, as Cal was unsure how much time had passed.

Cal stared at the cold white of the corridor surrounding him, knowing that even with all of the training that he had been doing, there was no way for him to surpass Khonsu, meaning he would never get to leave this place. Also meaning he would never get to see his friends again. The thought of this shook Cal, and brought him to his feet of the bottomless corridor. He was determined to surpass Khonsu to get back to his friends, but how? No matter how much training he did in the chilling prison, he was always too weak to even bruise Khonsu. These wretched thoughts felt like daggers digging into his skin. He steadied himself resuming back to thinking about the more peaceful times with Lychee and Ricarro.

Suddenly a bright flash of white light engulfed his prison. The white light was surrounding an individual which Cal assumed to be Khonsu. The white light left the figure, and as it did, Cal realized he wasn't looking at Khonsu, he was looking straight into the eyes of another version of himself. The two Cal's locked eyes, and sat in silence for a few seconds when the other version of Cal began to speak.

"Khonsu I know you can hear me, show yourself," the other Cal spoke in a calm tone.

Another flash of white light engulfed the corridor revealing Khonsu with a stern expression on his face.

"What the hell are you doing here," Khonsu yelled at the other Cal who from what Cal gathered was from the future.

"As this Cal cannot know what will happen, I must be vague, all that I am allowed to tell you is that a being from the future is causing havoc across my time line, he must return Khonsu, maybe then the balance will be restored," future Cal stated.

"Don't tell me you brought them here," Khonsu yelled.

"I had too, the only other choice I had could have lead to their deaths which I know that both you and I would have hated to see," future Cal responded.

"I feel like I'm missing so much information..." Cal said softly

"You will all understand soon, Khonsu return his powers so the balance will be restored," future Cal repeated.

With that, future Cal exited in a white flash, luckily this time Cal was prepared and covered his eyes to avoid the blinding light.

"I see," Khonsu said glaring at the spot where future Cal stood, "it seems your time here will be cut short, I hope you understand that you are still not ready to surpass me."

A glow surrounded Cal's body as the warm feeling of his powers returned to him, but something felt odd. He was unsure if it had just been the lack of powers for some time, or if something was wrong. Cal opened his mouth to ask Khonsu but just as he did Khonsu disappeared with a flash. Cal was sure he was just imagining it, and was sure his powers were fine and it was just him being paranoid.

Leaving the corridor had been much more difficult to how he had remembered it had been. After a couple of tries, Cal got frustrated with his inability to leave, then suddenly his legs started to glow. Panic spread through him as usually when he was exiting the corridor of time there was a bright flash of white and he was back into the real world, but this time was different, something was wrong.

Cal couldn't help but wonder if Khonsu had done something to his powers or gave him more than he already had access to, to prove if he was ready to inherit his powers fully. The glow spread up to his waist, as it spread further up his body, he became unable to move in the areas of which the glow had incased, the glow was eventually going to reach his head. Cal wondered if this was the end of him, after all this time he was finally going to see his friends again just to screw up and slowly become paralyzed. The glow spread up his neck as Cal prepared for the end. In no time at all the glow encased his entire body knocking him unconscious.
