Abuja, Nigeria.

"Omg! I'm so excited for today's gala," Jalilah squealed, shuffling through her dresses to find the perfect one.

"I'm more excited than you, Jay! Remember Alhaji Razi's second son is my long-term crush," Banina blushed.

"Yeah, right. The feeling of being in the same vicinity as your crush is one of the best feelings," Jalilah agreed, laughing. "I can't believe just last year I had a massive crush on the elder one."

"Oh yes... Luckily, you're attending this year's gala with your husband," Banina teased with a wink, and Jalilah shrugged.

"Trust me, there isn't anything special about it. Ya Jalal is so boring," she rolled her eyes while Banina laughed.

"Then stop him from being boring! You have to bring the light out of him. Remember, you're a sparkle, Jay; you light up everywhere you go," Banina encouraged, making Jalilah awe.

"I'm trying my best, and I'll keep on trying, In Sha Allah," Jalilah smiled.

"Now that I think of it, why don't you tell Daddy you have a crush on Alhaji Razi's second son? Maybe Daddy and Alhaji Razi could link you two up and arrange a marriage between you two," Jalilah teased, making Banina gasp.

"I've confirmed it today, Jalilah, you're insane!" Banina shrieked while Jalilah laughed.

"How do you expect me to tell Daddy about this? Not even Mummy! Besides, Daddy's focus is on Adda Maheera right now."

"So what? We're the same age, and I'm married."

"Forget about you, Jalilah. You and Ya Jalal got married under different circumstances, and I'm sure if it were up to Daddy, he wouldn't do it now. It was Hajiya's idea; I don't know what the rush was about."

"This reminds me, I heard Mummy and Daddy talking this morning. Alhaji Razi came with a proposal recently for his first son to marry Adda Maheera. Definitely, this gala was arranged for more than the yearly event. It's probably so they can meet."

"Dayyum! We're going to become freaking in-laws with them! I pray they get married this year, then maybe next year, I could get married to the second son," Banina sighed dreamily.

"Amin to your prayers, Ninah. Besides, you're such a beauty he won't be able to resist."

"Trust me, Jay, I feel so insecure around him. He's damn handsome," she held her chest, and Jalilah laughed.

"Forget about that now. Let's focus on what to wear," Jalilah said.

"You're right, Jay! I need to capture someone's heart tonight," Banina squealed.

"Oh c'mon, Ya Jalal, don't be boring! I'm here to help you choose what to wear to tonight's gala," Jalilah pouted, following him into his bedroom.

"Are you on a mission to make my life miserable? Can't you just leave me alone?" he grumbled, glancing in the mirror, realizing he needed a trim.

Jalilah smirked and hugged him from behind, catching him off guard. "Dayyum! You're so tall, Ya Jalal. Look at me—I'm just at your waist."
