If there was any type of day that Blitzo hated in Hell, it was days when there were no clients. When he started his company, having a day with no clients was worse than anything he could go through. Back then, no clients meant no money, which meant no revenue, which meant no financial stability, which meant his company would go back into the red again. Starting a company was as easy as growing a tree in a desert. Some loans had to be taken from banks that required payment back, with interest, and all the expenses that came with owning a company in general, such as office rent, electrical bills, Internet bills, business taxes, food, heating bills, water bills, and more. It only got worse when you had to deal with all the added expenses that came with being an assassination company: weapon manufacturers, ammo buying, hospital bills when they were injured, bomb-making, poison-making, and several other things. Combined with all the regular bills Blitzo had to deal with in his apartment, it was clear why most businesses ended up always folding over in less than three years.
I.M.P. had existed for over five years, and it was a miracle that it had survived this long. It wasn't that Blitzo and his team weren't good at killing their targets. In fact, they had a hundred percent kill rate ever since they started. Plus, there were plenty of demons out there who wanted someone in the human world dead for a price. No, the problem was Blitzo wasn't very good at handling money, and he hated to admit that, but it was the truth. His spending and financial ideas were, more often than not, always a disaster and kept the company in the red for a long time no matter how much he tried to fix it. It didn't help that reading and writing were always a chore for him due to his dyslexia, so sometimes the wrong paper would be addressed to the wrong banker or service provider.
It got so bad that Millie and Moxxie were close to leaving the company because it was just barely allowing them to make ends meet. Loona had complained a lot about how hard it was to get basic groceries and hot water for their shower. Finally, there was the fact that the bankers would take all of them out by hiring assassins of their own if they didn't get their payments. It took a lot of pride to swallow, but Blitzo had finally decided to turn to the one person in all of Hell he hesitated to get help from: Prince Stolas.
At first, Blitzo hated the bird prince because he was such a goddamn pervert and stalker. Blitzo would like to think he was hot for a demon, but he had his limits. If it honestly wasn't for needing that stupid book, then Blitzo would have never associated with him in the first place. Still, Stolas eventually became the closest thing to a true friend he had in the nine rings and went to him whenever there was a problem. When he went to Stolas for help in being more financial, the Prince was more than happy to teach him about business by offering someone who could help.
"Hey, Blitz?" The imp boss looked up from his video on Voxtube to see Octavia walk in with a stack of papers in her hand. "Latest investments came in. Going to take a look through them before Loona and I hit our lunch break. Want anything while we're out?"
"Turkey club with eyeballs and mayo," Blitzo said, turning back to his video. "Oh, and a diet coke."
"Sure thing," Octavia said as she was about to leave before pausing. "Oh, and Dad texted me earlier. Says he wants to take you out again tonight. Your choice."
"Eh, I'm in the mood for pizza," Blitzo said, shrugging. "Let him know that if I'm going to be at his place tonight, I'm not using that lube he got last time. I swear it's colder than a witch's tit."
"Oh, come on, Blitz," Octavia groaned, covering her face with her head. "How many times do I have to tell you to not mention any of your...intercourse moments with Dad in front of me?"
"You'd think after working here for three years now you'd be used to it," Blitzo said with a grin.
"You'd think I'd quit after three years of this..." Octavia muttered before closing the door behind her, but he saw a smirk on her lips.
