The truth about the dragons

It has been three days after our picnic... And my first kiss... On the forehead. After we got back to castle, we didn't even talk nor meet anymore. If we do, I ran from him. Uhhh... It was my first time, okay? Of course I'll overreact a bit. Yesterday, The council appointed Eiji to be my personal guard. God! Why are you killing me such way... It's tormenting me... Good for me, Eiji was gone until today. People said he was going somewhere but didn't mention where. Private place, I guess. What am I doing? Sitting on my chair, approving the researchers proposal to create a larger generator as well as new equipments for the troops. As I stamp on the proposal, I hear some noises outside. I hear people saying Eiji's name. Is there something wrong?

I walk towards the open window to see what the commotion is all about. I notice Eiji, in his normal clothes, a plain blue shirt with a black cloak. There is nothing unusual thing about him except... He carries an oval red-striped egg in his arms. I wonder what kind of egg is that and what he wants to do with it. As the saying goes curiousity kills the cat, I jump from my workplace, leaving the unattended proposals on the table, landing directly in front of him. He greets me as I land on my feet. "What egg is that?" I ask. "You will only know when the egg hatch." he answers shortly. I make a dissapointed face. "It will hatch soon. Want to wait for it together?" he invites me with a cheerful smile. "We can ask Princess Milhi too, if she want." he adds. I nod as I rush towards the phone, quickly pressing Milhi's numbers. It takes awhile but she picks up the call. Not her, I must go through her secretary first. She gives the phone to Milhi after I tells him that I am Leo. Milhi is quite happy that I give her a call. I calm her down before telling her to come over. She agrees as she have nothing to do.

After 30 minutes of waiting, she finally shows up. I grab her right hand as we rush towards Eiji's room that located a few feet from the main barrack. Milhi just follows my way. I'm just too excited to see what kind of egg that Eiji brought back! Lucky for us, Eiji left his door open for us which make things easier. I just hate knocking, you know. It hurts. We see Eiji sitting at the east of the rooms, warming up the egg with the help of some lamps and clothes. Seeing the egg, Milhi becomes excited as me too. We sit next to each other, Eiji, Milhi and me. "Hey... Where did you found this egg?" Milhi suddenly asks. "Actually, I..." Eiji wants to answer it but being interrupted by the sound of the cracking of the egg. I see a red colour emerging from the egg shell. Kuwaa! The creature make the first sound as it struggles to break it egg. Eiji helps it by removing the shell slowly. The creature push it's head out of the egg, looking at the world for the first time. Oh? What kind of creature?

A dragon. A red baby dragon. I know we have issues with dragons but this baby is sooo cute. Even Milhi falls in love with it. Eiji pulls out it's body slowly as the dragon making it sound. Eiji cleans it with a soft towel, soaked with warm water. The baby sounds so happy when Eiji gives it the first bath. Milhi and I just look and observe the care Eiji gave to the baby. After done cleaning, he put the baby up in the air, checking the gender. "It's a girl. Alright, I'll name you, Minori. Are you okay with that, Minori?" he talks to the baby. The baby dragons make a happier sound, agreeing to the name that Eiji just gave. Eiji puts Minori on his laps, carressing her head gently. She looks quite happy. "Two days ago, I got a dream. An old dragon told me to go to the Nil Mountain." he starts his story. "But, many people who went there said there is nothing there." Milhi interrupts. "Yes, that's what I hear from the people around too. But, I follow what the dragon said because it was like desperate." Eiji adds. "I started my journey to the mountain and when I arrived, an old dying dark dragon was lying on the top of the mountain. It was curling Minori's egg, warming it up. When It saw me, it communicated with me through telepathy. It told me that Minori is the last of their kind." Eiji continues as he rub Minori's head gently.

Last of it's kind? Does this mean... Eiji nods, knowing what bothers me. "Dragons were hunted by some dark forces, enslaving them to attack innocence people." Eiji's reaction change drastically. "Those who were not being enslaved, hide themselves but they are short of food, making their kinds slowly decreasing each day." Eiji explains. I look at Milhi, who looks down, feeling sad. Me too, feeling sad, I feel like I'm doing bad to the dragons. The fault lies to those who control the dragons!

From that day, the bond between Eiji and Minori increase. Eiji always brings Minori wherever he goes. And Minori flies around using her small wings, following him around. Eiji always spoiling her like she is his daughter. The best thing is he let Milhi and I playimg with Minori!

Eiji stands up and turn around to the people. "You can talk bad bout me. No matter how bad it is, I won't get mad at them. But, if you talk bad about my family, Minori. I'm going to beat the crap out of you! Yes, she is indeed a dragon. And if she turns bad, I'll be the one who ends her life! So stop talking about her! Understand?!" Eiji told them in mad tone. The chattering people have gone silence after he announcing 'war' against them. From that day onwards, there is no rumour floating around about Minori, maybe they are scared of Eiji who looks kind of scary and cool at the same time during his speech. After done doing work, I walk outside of my room to take fresh air before I notice Eiji is playing with Minori around the castle gate. I walk towards them to greet them, he might let me join in to play with Minori. "Hi!" I greet Eiji and Minori.

Just before Eiji replies back, the gate suddenly opens. "The arrival of Prince Gaul and Princess Charlotte from the Aisitti!" the guard announces as a horse carrier passes through us before stops right in front of me. A blue haired man who wearing a formal clothes for royalty comes out of the carrier then slowly follows by a blonde girl who hides her face using a leather fan. The man notices me and rushes towards me. He carresses his finger before tangles my hair with them. He smells my hair. In reflex, I slaps his face. But, before my hand reaches his face, his hand stops me. Urghh! Why is this jerk comes near me? "Hello there, my name is Prince Gaul from the country of Aisitti." he introduces. I struggle to let go of my hand from his gripping. Minori quickly flies onto my shoulder, growling to the jerk. That jerk just smiles, still gripping my hand tightly. Suddenly, Eiji drops from the sky, trying to slash him down with a sword. But, that jerk notices it and dodges the attacks. Eiji stands in front of me, protecting me from that, you-know-the-word, jerk. Eiji charges towards Gaul in high speed but he is intercept by a palladin using a shield. "I won't let you hurt, my lord." he says. Eiji grips his sword tighter and yell "Out of the way or I'll slash you too!" in anger. The palladin throws away Eiji in the air.

Gaul smiles, confident with the strength of his loyal palladin. "How we make a deal? If my palladin win against that puny..." Gaul proposes. "This man is my personal bodyguard!" I intercept before he says bad things about Eiji. "Forgive me, my dear. If my palladin win against your bodyguard, you have to marry me instantly." he adds while making a perverted face. Guhh! This is hard! "It's a deal." Eiji replies. "If I win, you will leave her alone right?" Eiji asks. Gaul laughs. "Yes... If you can beat my tough palladin." he adds with pride. "Then, I'll just have to win... For my princess. By any means necessary." Eiji replies calmly. The words of Eiji will fight against the palladin from Aisitti spreads faster than the speed of light. Since it a one-on-one battle that can risk anyone near it, the fight is held in the colloseum. A lot of people gathers around just to see the once in a lifetime fight. Those two comes out into the arena as the crowds cheer for them. Unlucky for me, I have to sit with that jerk. But, his sister sit next between us, making me a lot safer. Before the fight, Eiji asks me to take care of Minori as he can't guaranteeher safety in the arena. I hugs her, praying that he will safe. As the ring bells, Eiji makes a quick rush towards the palladin who is ready for all kind of attacks.
