A/N: Hey guys, I just wanted to say that this story is going to be about medium in length. Also, the pic is Jared!

              Jared POV-Present Day

I looked out the window of my mom’s car as we crossed the “Gandy” bridge into Saint Petersburg, Florida. We had just moved here from New York City. My mom got a new job here and she found a really cheap apartment in the middle of downtown. The apartment overlooked the locally famous “Mirror Lake”.

“Hey Jared, I know uprooting ourselves and moving all the way to Florida isn’t exactly ideal but I think you’ll really like it here. The apartments are really nice and I hear your new school is amazing. All of the teachers have really good reputations and I hear the girl in the apartment nest to us goes to Lakewood with you” My mom said, not taking her eyes off of the road. I didn’t answer. I don’t want to live in stupid Florida, or go to stupid Lakewood, or even meet some stupid neighbor girl.

I looked out the window when I snapped out of my thoughts and I saw the street sign. We were on 4th street, which must be one of the main streets because it was pretty big and looked like it went all the way through the city. I saw the big buildings of downtown approach when we turned onto “Mirror Lake Drive”. That’s when we stopped in front of an old looking building with “St. Petersburg High School” on the front above the door. Is this a school? I thought we were stopping at the apartments first.

“Here we are Jared” My mom said. I looked at her confused, questioning her with my eyes. She caught on to my question because she immediately started to answer my question. “This building used to be the site of Saint Petersburg High School. It moved from here to its current location in the 1920’s and then this building became other schools until the 1990’s when it was converted into apartments”. This building is supposedly famous here in Saint Petersburg.

“Hi, you must be the Jefferson Family. I’m Tina Faux, the realtor who’s selling you the apartment. It’s really nice to meet you in person. I hope you two will be happy here in this historic building.”

“Ohh, it’s nice to meet you too. I’m Linda Jefferson and this is my son Jared Jefferson. I hope we will be happy here too. Can you show us around and tell us a bit about the building?” my mom replied, shaking Tina’s hand.

“Well how about I show you two around and we can end the tour at your new apartment. Let’s begin. Here is the front lobby of the building. This used to be the main hallway of the school when it was still a school. Over here was…..” I started tuning her out as something caught my eye. It looked like a person but it passed through my vision too fast. What was that? It was probably just one of my new neighbors. I sighed. I miss my old neighborhood with my old neighbors and my old friends. Why did my mom have to get a new job and move us all the way to Florida?
