Not many people know this, but demons walk the streets among us. Some of them can't be seen by normal people, but when they do, they call us here at Devil Never Cries. The ringleaders of this organization is Dante, son of Sparda. I work along side of him as a partner. Ever since the last few calls, we've saved a lot of people. So I'm pretty well known. I mean, everyone's heard of Nero, right?
"Hello, Devil Never Cries." Dante answered the phone. I sat back and waited to find out what today's job was.
"Did you say that Satan's holding Someone important captive?" Dante smiled and pulled Rebellion from the skull hanging on the wall. He threw open a small box revealing his twin pistols Ebony and Ivory. I grabbed my blade from the floor and spun my revolver into its holster.
"We'll be right there!" Dante nodded to me.
"Ready for your hardest job yet Nero?"
"Ready as I'll ever be." Dante kicked the door open and walked out. I followed behind. I kept my weapons holstered as we ran. We came to a narrow road.
"Nero, take the roofs, I've got the lower level." I had no clue why he was splitting us until I looked down the road. The road was filled with hooded figures holding large war axes, the roof tops covered in large demons infused with cannons. I jumped onto the roof and smiled. I ran at one demon just as another began to fire.
I jumped onto the missile using it to propel myself towards the first demon. I jumped off letting it hit him in the stomach. I flipped over him grabbing my sword and slamming it down on the demon in behind the other. I spun left dodging another shot. I saw Dante slicing and shooting through everything in his way.
I heard the whooshing of another shot but didn't see or hear it coming towards me. I looked down at Dante.
"Dante look out!" He back flipped over the missile shooting it just in time to explode atleast 7 demons. I quickly spun out my revolver giving the demon who shot at him a bullet to the head.
"Well that deals with tho-" He was cut off by a loud rummble. We looked at the sky to see a large demonic bird swooping down towards us. I jumped up, spinning for a perfect punch to its face with my demon hand. As it fell, Dante kicked it back upward giving me a chance to slice it. It hit the ground hard, dead as dead gets.
"Now thats what I call bird hunting." Dante laughed. I snickered at his joke. We moved quickly down the road, heading for an abandoned night club. Dante kicked the door open making a remark.
"Honey, I'm home." He walked in with his hands on his guns. I walked in a little later. The room was completely empty. Not even a table or chair was in there. The only thin in there were a few beers.
Dante flipped a coin.
"Heads. Nero, this ones yours." Dante jumped behind the counter grabbing the first beer and popping it open. The floor began to shake and the door to the next room busted off and shot towards me. I caught it with ease. A small battalion of Scythe weilding demons walked in.
I jumped over the downed door breaking it and impaling one with the top of the door. I spun quickly slicing four in half. I resheathed my sword and smiled. I sweep four off their feet shooting quickly, taking them all down. I used the bottom half of the door to kill a few more.
The final one warped itself behind Dante. He used the empty bottle in his hand to kill it. Dante smiled cracking open the next bottle and chugging it down. We walked into the next room without hesitation. This room was a lot more full. Dante threw a quarter into the jukebox and played one of the songs. He Bahamas to dance with himself and I sat down. Just then the floor burst open releasing atleast three thousand flambats. Dante and I readied our guns. This was going to take us hours.
