"Oh my gosh I'm so happy for you guys!" I say as I hug them both but only with one arm because their hands were still clasped together tightly their knuckles were white as if scared.
When I move out of the way Dan moves over to them and says "Yeah what Phil said... Sorry I just have a headache so I'm not being really sentimental." he hugs them each while saying that.
3 Hours Later:
We spent hours talking about Kickthestickz, well if I say we I mean Pj, Chris, and I. Dan was a little off for most of the time sometimes chiming into the conversation. I decided it was time to go, I could see Dan getting more and more irritated.
"Okay guys I think we are going to be off."
"Okay Phil we will see you later."
Dan got the message and stood up and made his way to the door waiting for me. I stood up walked around the table, thanked and hugged both Dorks and walked to the door which Dan held open for me.
We had walked about a block before I said "Dan how is your head?"
"It's not my head Phil"
"Then why'd you say that back at Nandos?!"
"It's hard to explain...."
I stop walking.
I look him in the eyes and say "Then tell me I have all day."
That's when Dan turned around and ran in the other direction disappearing around the corner. I desperately want to run up to him and pull him close, but I can't do that, that would seem gayish to him and make him think I like him. Although....Maybe....No. I run my fingers through my hair and pull my jacket up to cover my neck and make my way home. Once home I unlock the door and walk upstairs expecting to see Dan on the couch, but he's not there. I walk over to his room and peer in and he's not there either. I start to question he's even here so I start yelling for him.
"Dan?...DAN?!?!...DaN?...Dan?"
No answer.
Since its late and Dan ran from me about an hour ago I begin to become worried. I ring him three times and he doesn't answer, so I text him,
'Dan. Please come home it's getting really cold tonight and I'm worried. You're my best friend and I don't know why you ran but, just please come home.' *Message Sent*
After a few minute of just standing in the living room I move to the couch and begin to wait. I grab a book on the side table about to read when I hear the door unlock and open. I spring up from the couch and quickly wrap my arms around the dark figure stepping into the room.
"Oh my gosh Dan! Where did you go? Why'd you ru-"
Dan cut me off by saying, "Phil go to bed. Your tired. I'm tired."
I look at Dan with a surprised look as he stared back at me plainly. I removed my arms from around him and took a step back. "Fine." I said in a whispered stern voice. I walk all the way to my room turn around and am about to shut the door when I see Dan standing in the same position but with a pained expression. I close my door hesitantly. I quickly slip into comfier clothing and by that I mean Boxers and a tee. Out side the door I hear Dan turning off all the lights so I'm guessing he's actually going to bed. And I eventually begin to nod off.
//2 AM//
I hear my door knob giggle. And then my eyes flutter open and I see light peering out of the crack of my door, then I see Dan.
I close my eyes again and pretend to be asleep.
I hear Dan sigh and mumble something about the way I slept before he says gently "Phil? Phil?"
I open my eyes again and raise my head a bit.
"Yea Dan?"
I see him kind of shift in place before he says "Uh, I had a nightmare and I was Uh um wondering if I cou-"
"Come here." I cut him off signaling he could sleep with me. Whenever Dan or I have nightmares we always go to the others room for comfort. it seems to work quite well. Dan waddles his way around to the other side of my bed and slips in.
He breathes a faint "Thank you." before his breathing deepens and his small snores fill the room. I rest my head back on the pillow and I realize three things
1. Dan and I will definitely wake up in a spoon position like always.
2. I'm glad we will wake up like that.
3. I'm fucked.
