A/N; Should I carry this on?

Little footsteps filled the quiet house as Jonghyun's eyes raked over his pile of work. He was on the verge of just ending this job now and continuing with benefits from the council maybe. As he trailed off about his much more interesting and intriguing thoughts he didn't notice the young boy opening the door.

"Daddy daddy?" His little voice called out, his eyes curving into happy little arches. He clutched a piece of paper in hand and grinned brightly while approaching the man, holding his head in his hands not even bothering to look up. The six year old didn't seem to mind or really notice the unhappy vibes from the man who just wanted to be alone. "Daddy, you forgot to pick me up again. Jenni noona brought me here, she asked to come in and see you but I told her you were busy. She's gone now, and I brought you something." The younger informed, taking a few small steps toward the dark figure but in reality, Jonghyun didn't forget.

Jonghyun rubbed his dark circled eyes and turned to Kibum with a frown, he couldn't be bothered to smile because what was the point? He'd decided to just quit his job and was about to call the office now. Since she left he hadn't been the same and so life for the single father and son had been pretty hard but Kibum didn't seem to mind. He liked to see his dad smile so everyday he would try and find a way and even though he failed he promised not to stop.

"I got you this, see?" Kibum held out the paper, unfolding it so it was clear in view to the man, unphased by his downed actions. The man's eyes vaguely made out what seemed at first glance just a few blobs of paint.

"You did that?" Jonghyun all but scoffed, his body rotating the chair until he faced the phone, his hand reaching out for it. The brunette youngster nodded even though it was unseen and continued to walk closer until he was perched on the armrest of the chair. He held up the painting again.

"You didn't see it properly, daddy." He smiled and began pointing to the certain parts of his cheerful painting. It was dark in the room, to match Jonghyun mood 24/7, pale walls now over coated with dark grim colours but that didn't stop Kibum's bright and peppy mood. Jonghyun hated the mood, the mood that the younger would always be in since it reminded him of her, he had to hold back his anger as after all, Kibum was all he had and whether he liked it or not he couldn't lay a finger on the boy but what did laws matter if he was unseen...

"This is me," the young boy pointed to the smallest blob of pinkish and red paint, all slurred together. "This is you.." His smile broadened as he explained. "And this.." Jonghyun's eyes darted to the painting immediately. "This is daddy's girlfriend, because he was always smiling brightly when he saw her." Kibum explained, not fully understanding at his age the anger Jonghyun felt from anything reminding him of her. Jonghyun hadn't thought of the fact kibum was too young to realise as anger took over. "Do you lik--" suddenly the man's hand lashed out, ripping straight down the middle of the painting without a second thought.

"I hate it." He stated firmly looking away to continue his start to his phone call. "Now go away, I'm busy." Kibum looked down at the ripped paper, he had spent so long paitnting that with such effort for it to be spoiled immediately. He sighed picking up the piece of paper that landed at his feet.

"But daddy, I'm hungry."

"Does it look like I care?" Came the man's instant reply. "Sort it out yourself." He ordered but the boy was uncapable of such things.

"Appa, I can't--"

"Kibum!" Jonghyun yelled, eyes furious as he glared at the young boy who trembled. "I don't fucking care so get out of here." He frowned, the younger burst into tears but not even the sight of his own son crying softened him. "Fucking get out." He snapped. Kibum shook his head, he just wanted his old dad who would treasure him and flatter him with playful kisses and tickles, who would tuck him into bed every night and sometimes read stories. He wanted comfort, like a young boy should have. It wasn't healthy to be scared of your own parent. "Now, Kibum." Jonghyun's voice was darker now and Kibum knew what was coming.

"Daddy please.." He whimpered, stomach aching for much needed food. He didn't even have a lunchbox at school today and Jenni had to pay for him. She sure was suspicious but Kibum had reassured her on everything, thinking in his little mind how his father would definitely be angry at him for telling.

Slap. The boy's face rung with pain and he stumbled backwards, tripping over his feet in the process. He landed with a thud, his cheek already lighting up a sore red colour as it had many times before.

"Dadd--"

"Get the fuck out of here. I hate you." Said the man before he turned away sighing heavily. Kibum stared at the back of the chair while stroking his stinging cheek. He missed his dad so much but no matter what he did the man never seemed to like it. He cried louder and bit his lip in attempt to stop his sobs, knowing how much his father hated that too.
