~Bailey's POV~:
The plane landed at 12 am, Central time. Ava's mom came to pick us up at the airport, being a little too excited to see her daughter again. Ava's mom, Linda, squeezed Ava till she couldn't breathe and then placed quite a lot of kisses on Ava's face. She hugged me tightly as well before we left the airport and drove back to Ava's house. I'm spending the night at Ava's since I don't want to meet Evan this late at night, I'll just go home in the morning to meet the mysterious Evan who apparently knows more about my family than I do, I won't believe it until he tells me all that he knows.

Ava had her phone held tightly in her hand, texting Luke constantly. I would've texted Ashton but I still haven't checked my bag for the surprise he apparently got me and I don't want him to ask about it. I haven't even told him about Evan's call the other day, I had no reason to tell him and no reason not to tell him so I just didn't tell him.

We pulled into the driveway of Ava's small house. It was only Ava and her mother living here since Ava's dad left them about ten years ago. Ava still sees her dad sometimes, but rarely, and she doesn't really love him all that much. She does love her mom though, those two are going to be bawling when Ava leaves for college.

As Ava and I got ready for bed I noticed the small jewelry box sneakily placed inside the dress I wore on the date Ashton and I went on. Ava noticed the box I was currently holding and her eyes widened; "Bailey!!! Is that from Ashton?!?!" She squealed in excitement and rushed to my side as I nodded and rolled my eyes at the girl.

I slowly lifted the top off the box and placed it carefully back inside my suitcase. Ava squealed once again at the gift Ashton had given me. I was confused at what it was at first but I soon realized it's purpose.

Inside the box was a navy blue guitar pick, similar to my dress color, with a golden engraving on it reading, "For the silent musician." It really wasn't all romantic and cheesy, well the idea was, but the engraving wasn't at all which I smiled about. I knew why it read that, I still haven't played guitar for him like he begged me to do, so I'm the 'silent musician' in his eyes. I smiled at the gift and placed it back into the jewelry box.

"Okay we have the best boyfriends on the planet, just saying." Ava sighed and smiled wide.

"Ava, Ashton's not my boyfriend yet, we've been on one date! And that was literally less than 24 hours ago." I rolled my eyes and chuckled quietly as she gave me the look that said, "really?" without her having to actually say it.

"Okay Luke and I have been on zero dates but I sill consider him to be my boyfriend because we know that we love each other and that's what binds our relationship. Bailey...relationships are more than the number of dates you have with a person, they are about how you feel with that person. Luke...he may be awkward as hell but he's super sweet, and I'm pretty awkward too so...I know I love him because of the way my heart speeds up whenever I see him and by how many excited butterflies I get in my stomach whenever we kiss. I can see the look you guys have in each others' eyes and it's definitely something close to love." Ava gave me a knowing look as she laid down in her bed. "Just think about how he makes you feel Bailey...and turn off the lights, I've had a long day." I couldn't be happier to have such a great best friend.

So I listened to what Ava said and I thought about how Ashton makes me feel. Our kisses have drawn me into a new world, as cheesy as it sounds, and he always knows how to make me happy. And he's such a nice guy, he's always there for me and I love that about him. I'm still not sure where we stand and all but at least I know what kind of effect he has on me.

After I got up the next morning and got dressed, I said a quick goodbye to Ava's mom before heading over to my house to finally find out what this Evan guy thought he knew. Ava had to give me a ride since I obviously didn't have my car.

My house came into view as Ava turned onto my street. I recognized my dad sitting on our outside porch, looking at the steps he was sitting on with a small frown, his head hung low and he kept rubbing his face.

I took my things out of the back of Ava's car and said a quick goodbye, telling her that I would probably call her later. My dad lifted his head and smiled as I approached, taking a seat next to him on the porch steps. "Hey dad, what's wrong?" I hugged him tightly as he sighed.

"Bailey..." He took my hands in his and looked into my eyes sadly, as if he was about to give me some bad news; "You might find out some things that you aren't gonna want to know after talking to Evan...he's a nice guy but the things he's planning on telling you may...they might break your heart a little and I just want you to know that your mom, sister, and I love you very much and we want to make sure you know that before he tells you everything." His eyes were watering so I hugged him tight.

"Dad there's nothing he could ever tell me that would make me stop loving you. You're my dad, you raised me and have taken care of me all my life. There is no reason for me not to love you." I gave him a reassuringly smile. We walked inside the house soon after and I got a first look at the mysterious, all knowing Evan. He had brown hair, a little lighter than mine but the same hazel eyes from what I could tell. He was around my dad's height and he was wearing a nice dress shirt with some dark jeans. He looked a little older than me but not by much.

"You must be Evan..." I spoke quietly with much hesitation cause heck, this guy is a complete stranger except for one short and confusing phone call!

"Yes I am." He smiled warmly, I noticed how his eyes began to water for no reason at all as he gave me a hug. I obviously froze at first but hugged him back with even more hesitation. He pulled away and wiped a tear away from his cheek. "Um...do you mind if we talk in private? Like out on your porch?"

"Um sure...Just so you know, I'm not exactly sure who you are still so could you please explain that to me?" We were on the porch by the time I had finished asking the question.

"It will all make sense as soon as I'm done explaining all of this...I can't believe I finally found you. It took three years..." He sighed and shook his head, his elbows resting on his knees and his hand rubbing over his mouth and chin.

"Why have you been looking for me? How do you know me? I don't understand any of this..."

"It will all make sense but for starters...Bailey...you're adopted."
