Music blared through the corridors of Auclair Manor. It seemed a very young, and civilized group of individuals had come to partake in the festivities. Lillith Auclair tilted her head back and took a swig of wine, and then sighed.

"It is so nice to have the whole family together again, is it not?" she said to one of the servants.

"When is the last time everyone has been together?" the servant asked.

"Hmmm, I believe it was... many years ago." Lillith sighed as she stared into the fire. Her brown eyes tightly closed, and she screamed loudly.

The servant probed further; "No, ma'am, that is not correct. Ten years ago is all."

"Nay... never!" Lillith said weakly. "I can remember when my own mother and father were alive."

The servant cleared her throat and cajoled; "Please ma'am, go back to your room and take your daily brew of medicine. The physician strongly advices that you do. "

Lillith lay back on her sectional couch and stared into the fire, saying; "When will this illness pass, it has brought nothing but grief to my family."

"I am sure the time will come when there will be an answer." The servant smiled.

"It will, one day..." Lillith said thoughtfully.

She sat up, turned to the servant and said; "Come, we will go above stairs and prepare a grand dinner. And, tell all the servants something must be prepared. I want everyone to have a great time tonight."

"As you wish, ma'am."

Lillith spied Damien walking by and waved him over. "Damien dear come join us! It seems these young people are enjoying themselves more than they have in some time."

"Of course, mother." Damien smiled as he joined his mother.

"It is gratifying. These people have seen so much suffering, it really feels good to remember what it is like to be young." Lillith said. She turned and looked at Damien.

"Damien, please fill our cup. I have decided to celebrate the reunion of the family tonight, and there must be a celebration."

"Of course, Mother," Damien smiled. He picked up a golden pot, filled the silver cup with wine and placed it on the breakfast buffet. He then filled a matching pot with water and placed it on the table.

Damien turned to the servant and said; "Enough of your incessant talking, give me the key, and let us get started. I am sure these young people do not wish to hear the story of how I fumbled in the kitchen and broke the big pot's handle."

"Come Damien... I have just the story in mind..." Lillith smiled broadly.

Damien smiled as he walked away from the fireplace and into the hallway. "How could a grown man like me, such as myself, ever be a fumbling fool?" Damien said aloud.

He walked through the hallway and down the stairs and into the kitchen. He turned on the lights and placed various items on the counters and in several neat corners. He found a letter adressed to him on a plate, the neat handwriting recognisable. It could only be from one person.

"Lord Auclair, I didn't think you would be in here." A soft voice said from behind Damien.

Damien quickly removed the letter and tucked it into his waist coat and straightend his posture, "Ah Hunter how was the hunt today,"

Hunter smiled, "Will you ever stop saying that ,my lord?"

"Indeed when you stop calling me 'my lord' and start calling me my name." Damien chuckled.

Lillith smiled but remained quiet from outside the door. She decide she wouldn't intrude on the conversation and decide to find her husband.

Lillith turned and proceeded up two flights of stairs to her husbands chambers. She knocked on the door before opening it to see her husband, Niklaus, sitting at a table with his mistress Nyx.

"Where is the big platter?"

"It still resides in the kitchen my lord," Lillith said. "I will bring it down shortly."

"Excellent," Niklaus spat.

Niklaus was a spiteful man, one who even the bravest of men would fear to get on his bad side. Lillith needed a way out of her marriage but couldn't think of a single thing therefore she planned to ask for help and she knew just who to ask.
