Daniel sat at the only desk in the dead center of the room. In front of him were Alyson and G-1 standing by a chalk board, with Derick sitting on the floor in the back corner, doing paperwork and making more phone calls. Alyson was a tall, blonde, blue eyed woman, almost angelic in appearance. She wore white robes and clothing reminiscent of a goddess. No matter where she was, it seemed like her long flowing hair was caught in the wind. G-1 was of a rounder build. His body was a silvery, rotund shape and his head was a similar dome shape with LED screens for his eyes and mouth. Other than that he seemed like a normal, humanoid robot. Same goes for Alyson. Despite her more divine qualities, she just seemed like a normal person.
"Now." Alyson started. "Before we get started I think we should introduce ourselves. My name is Alyson, and I am the first guardian of the internet!" Alyson cheerfully proclaimed.
"And I am G-1, this world's third guardian." G-1 stated very plainly.
"And you're... Daniel right?" Alyson asked.
"Yeah! That's me!" Daniel, once again, tried to sound confident to hide his confusion.
"Excellent!" Alyson put her hands together and gave a warm smile, which instantly made Daniel feel welcomed and more comfortable in this strange land. "So can you tell us what's your power Daniel?"
"M-My power?" And just as quickly that comfort was whisked away. Alyson's eyes widened as her jaw dropped slightly. She chuckled nervously a bit to herself.
"Please don't tell me you don't have your power yet."
"I haven't even been here for a full day so imma go with no on the power stuff." Alyson groaned at this and put her head in her hands.
"I know Derick said you were new but I didn't think you were this new!" She sighed. "That's fine. We can work with this." It was then that an idea dawned onto Alyson. "I know!" She then turned to G-1. "Why don't we show him our powers!" G-1 put his finger to his chin.
"That could be advantageous to our cause. Letting the tenth guardian get acclimated to his new colleagues and soon to be abilities can greatly increase his training progress. But maybe we should relocate to outdoors for a better demonstration?"
"Great idea G-1! Cmon let's go!" Suddenly Alyson grabbed G-1's arm and practically dragged him to the backyard area of the schoolhouse. Daniel stood up from his desk and awkwardly followed the two outside.
Outside was a huge dirt lot, completely enclosed with a chain link fence. The lot was filled with rubble and craters, most likely from previous training exercises. Daniel stood at one end while Alyson and G-1 stood at the other. Alyson had a look of great determination on her face. She took in a deep breath and clapped her hands together. When she pulled them apart a bow and arrow of pure light and energy emerged. Daniel was in complete shock, while G-1 remained unfazed at this feat and disregard of basic physics. Alyson drew the bow as a gust of wind brushed her hair from her face.
"My power is light bending. I can manipulate and control any form of light to do my bidding! Although natural sunlight is the most powerful and overall best, artificial light works too." Alyson then released the arrow and it was sent soaring towards Daniel.
"Woah!" Daniel shouted as he jumped away. The arrow of light pierced the ground and exploded the earth around it. When the dust settled, Daniel was then hit with G-1's metal fist. Daniel was sent back, flying through the air. He collided and rolled across the ground. Looking up, he could see G-1, now sporting some new tank treads.
"My power is reconstruction. I have the ability to rearrange the materials in my body to best suit my situation. With enough energy, I can even rearrange my own atoms." G-1 explained. "For example..." G-1's arm began to reconstruct itself. Plates, bolts, and wires, all rearranging themselves into a new configuration. When they were finished, G-1 was left with some sort of energy blaster. A golden yellow light began to charge up and glow within the barrel of the arm cannon.
"Guys can we please not use energy weapons?!" Daniel pleaded.
"This world is completely different from your own. You will experience things thought to be impossible in your mind. Exposing you to these unfamiliarities is the only way we can test your resilience and capabilities. Now, block or dodge!" G-1 fired the energy blast directly at Daniel. In his shock and disbelief, Daniel remained firmly planted in the ground as the ball of destruction barreled towards him. Daniel instinctively shot up his arms, in an attempt to maybe, and hopefully catch the energy. The blast collided with his hands and immediately detonated on impact. An intense light shined out, as Daniel was engulfed in furious flames. A huge gust of wind kicked up dust and smoke and blew it into G-1 and Alyson's faces. When everything finally settled, Daniel was seen on his hands and knees, covered in dust and blood. Scratches and cuts covered his body. Burn marks crept across his body. Daniel's body shuttered, as tears streamed down his cheeks. Alyson sighed.
"I guess we have to find someone else."
"Yes. Someone with quick critical thinking skills would be most useful for our situation."
"Shame, I really liked him."
"Hold on!" Daniel shouted. "I'm, not done yet!" Daniel slowly stammered up off the ground, and onto his feet. A look of pure resolve washed over his face.
"I see. He appears to have great determination." G-1 stated, unfazed.
"Incredible! I-I don't believe it!" Alyson said in shock and awe.
"He might be the hero we've been looking for after all."
