It was december 24th, i put my finest coat on ,slipped my warm socks on, compressed my hat on to the top of my head.
I look at the mirror once, smiling at me bundled up.
i yell for him by the door
"ollie come on i can't wait any longer"
i shout laughing
"i'm coming my love"
my love.
he creeps around the corner standing in front of me in his black coat with his bunny hat
"really the hat" i say rolling my eyes
"yes really, now let's go"
he twirls me
our hands connected as we walk towards the lobby
"it's so dark out" i say shocked
"well ofc it's 1am let's go"
he tugs me as we run the streets of a nyc winter wonderland
we head to the lit up tree down the block
"do you ever wonder how they put the lights on this tree" i question as we gaze at the top of the tree
"i suppose they just fly up and float" he answers sarcastically
i push him
maybe a little to hard
he looks up at me from the floor
"what a strong girl" he smirks
"sorry" i say as i reach my hand for him to grasp onto
"thanks- GOTCHA" he yells as he pulls me down with him
"OLLIE " i laugh
it's just us laughing
in the snow as it snows
watching the dark sky seem so bright
"hey you see that star up there,"
i point out
" yea what about it"
"nothing i just find it very beautiful"
"the way you admire that star is the way i admire you" he says as he turns over to face me
i turn towards him as well
watching his red nose
and the snow resting on his lashes
"i love you" i admitted
"i love you more my love"
we laid there with a comfortable silence
I open my eyes leaving the false reality in mind
as a tear drops from my eye
and i gaze my finger around the rim of the picture.
i'll be in denial for atleast a little while, what about the plans we made, ollie.
all just memories.
