I STARED at them with a look of utter bewilderment on my face. "What do you mean she's missing?""She was in the hospital. I was there checking on her, then she just randomly screamed and when we went to check and see if she was okay, she was gone." Stiles told me softly.
"Why was she- actually we don't have time for that right now, just explain later. Right now, we need to go find Lydia" I told all three of them.
"That's why we're here," Scott said as he started to walk forward towards my old house.
It still felt weird being back here, really weird. My heart was still racing and I'm surprised that Scott didn't mention anything about it.
Scott turned and looked back at us, "Comin?"
I looked to Stiles as he and Allison started to walk towards Scott, "Yeah,"I replied, as we all started to get closer to the house.

After about two more hours of looking, we finally stopped. "It's getting late and we all have school tomorrow. I'm assuming you'll be there Nova?" Scott questioned me.
"Oh, yeah. I'll be there," I told him.
"Okay, so I think that's enough searching for tonight," Scott told the rest of them.
We all began to walk away from each other but Stiles stopped in his tracks and I turned to him to make sure everything was okay. "Stiles? You okay?" I questioned him.
"I- I just haven't seen you in forever. After the fire, I wanted to check on you but I couldn't find you and then after a week or two of waiting for you to show up at school, I realized that you probably weren't coming back." Stiles was frowning as he told me this.
"Stiles-" I tried to talk but he cut me off by speaking again.
"I get it, you lost basically your entire family in that fire. Mae, I'm so sorry that something like that happened to you. I just, I thought we were close enough for you to at least want to say goodbye before you left." He finished off.
"Stiles, trust me, I did, but I just couldn't. I had just lost so many people and I couldn't say goodbye to you knowing that I was gonna lose you too." I told him with a frown, matching his expression.
He just stared at me as I was waiting for him to respond, hoping that he wasn't too mad with me. "I'm sorry Stiles, I really am. I shouldn't have left without saying goodbye, I shouldn't have left at all," I told him with sincerity in my tone.
"It's okay, I understand why you did it," he told me softly. "Come here" he motioned for me to get closer to him.
I walked up to him and he wrapped his arms around me pulling me in closer. I sighed breathing him in and finally relaxing for the first time since I drove past that sign. I haven't felt this safe in a long time.
Just as I was about to speak my phone buzzed. I pulled it out of my pocket to see who it was.
DEREK
Where are you? You were supposed to meet me at the school two hours ago? Is everything okay?
I sighed again as I fully pulled back from Stiles. I sent him a small smile as he just stared into my eyes. Oh god, those beautiful brown eyes. They were even pretty in the dark.
I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear, "Um, Derek just texted. He's worried. I was supposed to meet him at the school two hours ago, so I should probably go..." I told him hesitantly.
My talking seemed to snap him back into reality. "Oh, yeah. We should both probably go, it's getting late..."
"Yeah, goodnight Stiles." I sent him a smile as I began to walk towards my car.
