Time skip—The next day

Declan:

School had finished, Artemis's seemed even worse than yesterday, so he offered to walk her home.

"Do you ever wonder what it's like after you die?" she asked staring at the sky.

"Well of course," he said.

"I hope it's a peaceful sleep," her eyes followed the orange that spread over the clouds.

"That sounds nice, wow the suns setting earlier than usual today," he said.

"That's because its winter."

Artemis stopped at a pathway surrounded by bush, further up the pathway was a bridge.

"This is a shortcut to my house, I'll be fine from here thank you," she said.

"Oh, ok I'll see you tomorrow then," He began walking off.

"Declan, if you really like Emma just ask her out, I won't mind."

He smiled, "thanks Artemis."

He had walked a couple of steps when he started texting Emma asking her on a date, when Scarlett started calling him.

He picked, "Hey Scarlett something wrong?"

"Where's Artemis are you with her!" She yelled.

"No, we went our separate ways, is something wrong?"

"She left suicide notes In Everly and I's pockets, Declan you have to find her, this isn't some joke she's serious about this, she doesn't want to live anymore!"

Declan felt a pit in his stomach, "I'm going ok I'll call you when I find her."

He raced back towards the path; he knew she was going to jump off that bridge.

Artemis:

She stood on the railing of the bridge, down below was rocks with water gushing through them. She put her foot out ready to jump, when the images of her parents and two best friends popped into her head. She put her foot back on the railing.

"You have to end this suffering Artemis," she whispered to herself.

She remembered back to all the pain she ever felt. Tears fell from her cheeks. She closed her eyes, put her foot out and began to fall forward.

"Artemis!" Someone yelled.

She opened her eyes, as someone grabbed her left arm and her waist. She felt herself get pulled back over the railing. Her body smashed into whoever was grabbing her and they fell onto the ground. She groaned in pain, she opened her eyes and turned her head.

Declan:

"Artemis!" he yelled as he saw her about to fall.

He leaped at her desperately grabbing her hand and waist and pulling her back, she slammed into him, and they both fell back onto the ground. He flinched in pain on the ground. He turned to make sure she was alright, she happened to turn at the same time and their eyes met. Artemis's bangs were no longer covering most of her face so he could see her face and eyes for once. They were shimmering, she looked stunned just staring at him. Declan's immediate thought was that she was gorgeous, but he quickly shook that thought off. They were there for a while staring at each other and blushing.
