Chapter 9

Time skip - Next Friday

Scarlett:

Scarlett walked with Lucas and Declan to a party thrown by their friend Everly. They made it to the street and continued to her house.

"Jack was so pissed about his workshop project breaking," Declan laughed.

"Who broke it?" Scarlett asked.

"Jack," Lucas replied.

"Yeah, and then I laughed, and he had a go at me, said he was gonna beat me up," Declan continued.

"What an idiot," Scarlett.

They made it to the house where they knocked on the door. Lily answered and invited them in.

They sat in the backyard talking to their friends. Artemis and Everly arrived soon enough, and they all wandered the party talking too their other friends. Soon enough there were a bunch of them dancing and singing in the lounge room. While dancing Artemis, fell over and Scarlett had to help carry her to a chair.

"How many drinks have you had?" Scarlett asked.

"Um, one."

Scarlett rolled her eyes, "why did you drink so much."

"Well, um, I'm freaking out, I think I might be in love with Declan."

Scarlett jumped up in joy, "yes finally."

Artemis looked at her with a frown, Scarlett froze.

"Sorry," She laughed, "just talk to him nothing horrible can happen."

She blushed, "but."

"No, no excuses," Scarlett said, "go."

She grabbed her by the arm and dragged her up. Artemis began walking in the direction of Declan.

She got interrupted by Jack Faxing, "Hey, Artemis."

Artemis just stood trying to comprehend why a popular 'jock' like him was talking to her.

He looked at her confused, "are you ok?"

"Why are you talking to me?" She asked.

He leaned in and kissed her, Artemis didn't know what to do and stood there shocked for thirty seconds. She soon snapped out of it and pushed him away.

"Um, what the fuck," she said.

He looked behind him and smirked, Artemis was curious to what he was looking at but pissed so she punched him over the face.

"Hey, what the hell!" He yelled.

"Goodbye," She walked off looking for Declan.

Artemis:

Artemis wandered the party but then moved outside because she couldn't find Declan.

She went to lily's front porch and noticed Declan sitting on the steps.

"Declan," She walked towards him.

He stood up and turned, he gave her a disgusted look. She stopped in her tracks once she noticed the look.

"what's wrong?" she asked, "why are you looking at me like that."

He clenched his fist, "I knew it, you do realise I have feelings for you, I know you knew, and you've just been ignorant towards it, why in the hell would you kiss jack."

"Declan."

"You know what, why did I ever get involved with you I knew you were dangerous, you probably lied about what Emma did, you probably lied about all of it, you really are pathetic," He moved closer to her angrily.

Artemis eyes shook as she heard his words, she couldn't say a word.

"Your ignorance is the reason your brother is dead."

Something in Artemis snapped and she whacked Declan over the face, she stood there shocked after listening to the boy she had feelings for say she was the reason her brother was dead.

He looked at her with a guilty look but quickly stormed off angrily. Artemis stood there processing the situation. The first thought that popped into her head was maybe he was right. After all the dark thoughts flooded back into to her head she collapsed to her knees. Tears formed in her eyes, and she began crying.
