The room was eerily quiet as you woke. Tired (e/c) orbs skimmed the sad grey room, fixing on the bars that kept you trapped. Your entire body ached as you sat up, not only from being sprawled on the cool pavement for god knows how long, but also from the various patched up wounds of unknown origins. You didn't remember a thing from before you woke and any attempts to remember were quickly dropped by a splitting headache. All you could do was fiddle with the IV that had been not-so-neatly inserted into your left arm. You felt an underlying feeling of nausea, which only worsened as you heard soft footsteps approach from the shadows beyond your cell.
You squirmed in anticipation as you heard voices, quickly identifying that there were two approaching you. One of them spoke in words that were completely incomprehensible to you, the other was too quiet to be made out. You could just barely see the outline of the duo. One was significantly taller than the other. His outline was broad and powerful. You could just barely make out the deep golden gaze that was fixed on you. He seemed as if he were examining you thoroughly as they spoke back and forth.
The other spoke in a language that (Y/N) couldn't understand; however the other seemed to understand them clearly. It was hard for you to make out their figure at first. They were definitely tall, just not as tall as the other, as well as thin and angular. The only thing that separated them from the inky black beyond the cell that the human was in was their pale, almost skeletal face and labcoat of nearly the same shade.
You listened to the almost one sided conversation for what felt like an eternity, fingers curling around the sad medical gown that clung to your bandaged form. You had so many words to say, but none of them would come out. You felt as if there was a lump in your throat. It only worsened when the two observing you stopped speaking, their full attention directing toward you. You shrank back under their stern gazes.
"H...Hello?" Your voice came out in a pitiful squeak, (e/c) gaze dropping to the floor. The monster that donned a lab coat moved closer, skeletal finger wrapping around the bars of the cell.
"Good morning, project Stheno." They purred, pin pricked gaze examining every inch of you. "How are you feeling today?"Hi! Working on a new story because I got an idea for once in my life. If you like this, you should definitely go check out my other work, ty!! <33
