A/N: Inspired by Monsta X's Gambler. Stan Monsta X!

"Going once, going twice," before the auctioneer can utter another word, a young lady spoke up hastily.

"Nine thousand dollars!" she bid, people frowning and others sighing in defeat as the dollars increased.

"Nine thousand dollars!" the auctioneer repeated, his left arm stretched towards the lady while the other was tightly holding onto his microphone.

You realized that you didn't like auctions at all. The loud voice of the auctioneer and his fast talking pissed you off. Not to mention, having to wait this long only to always bid highest and win the auction was a major waste of time.

"Going once, going twice..."

You were about to speak up to bid for twelve thousand dollars and end it there, but a voice spoke before you could raise you hand.

"Ten thousand dollars!" the sweet, melodic voice came from your left, sitting just behind you in the fourth row.

Almost everyone's heads turned to the bidder, including yours. A gasp almost left your mouth.

Clad in a black, velvety suit with a white button up was a young man who seemed to be about your age. Sharp nose, doe eyes and hair styled so well you couldn't help but gape at him for a split second.

His right hand was raised and his eyes glued on the front, right at the glass box where the prize of the day sat. A one of a kind ruby necklace, beautiful like a rose and glamorous like a centerpiece. It's precious stones shone bright under the spotlight and its silver color mesmerized you.

You stopped yourself from staring at him any further, thinking this was not the time to be entranced by handsome men. The determination to take the necklace all for yourself flamed up once again in your eyes, especially after seeing the perfect man who wanted to take it away from you.

Before the auctioneer could even utter a sound your hand shot into the air like lightning, "Twelve thousand dollars!"

Baffled, the auctioneer changed the direction of his hand to you before it could point at the handsome man for longer than a second. "Twelve thousand dollars!"

Smirking with your hand still in the air, you slightly tilted your head to get a look at the man to your left. However, his face was expressionless.

"Going once, going tw-,"

"Fifteen thousand dollars," the man calmly called, his hand lazily stretched into the air. He looked bored out of his mind, as though the current events were a chore.

You huffed, starting to get annoyed. This necklace was going to cost you more than you thought it would. Yes, you had lots of money but you had only carried thirty thousand dollars in your briefcase, since you did not think anyone would dare to bid over ten thousand dollars.

At the sound of your huff, the man finally turned his head in your direction. He watched you carefully as you raised your eyebrows at him, as if to say 'are you challenging me?'

"Sixteen thousand dollars!" the determination never left your eyes, and you kept your arm stretched as you glared at the man behind you.

To your surprise, a hint of amusement danced in his eyes as he chuckled and shook his head. Finally, he showed some type of emotion.

But you didn't like it. The way he looked like he was having so much fun watching you, as though you were nothing but a fly on his book. It did nothing but fuel your anger.
