A new beginning

The weather was as cheerful as Gloria as she got started with her first day of college at Mountain Ridge. "Have some breakfast honey!" said her mom, Mrs. Willis as she saw her leaving in a hurry. "I'll have something with Sharon!" she said running towards Sharon's car as she honked impatiently.

"I can't wait to have the perfect college experience," Gloria said while getting out of the car in the parking area. She went straight to the admissions office to take care of her pending documents and as she entered she saw another guy standing there. He was tall and handsome with an all-black outfit but his hazel eyes and long black hair in a mullet caught the attention the most. While Gloria stared at him without blinking, he brushed past her without sparing a glance.

"Welcome students, we shall be starting right away," said Mrs. Ray, their anatomy professor as she picked up the marker. She could also see the admissions office guy in the same room centered on the board. "Hmm, so he is a fresher too," muttered Gloria while Sharon stared at her confused.

Gloria and Sharon were enjoying their coffee in the cafeteria when a fresher came to them. "Seniors are planning a fresher's party for us tonight near the Wadecroft forest. There will be games and booze," he said while giving them a poster. "Woah, looks like it's gonna be a fun party," said Sharon trying to flirt with the guy weirdly.

"You seriously are choosing those earrings over the one I gifted you," said Sharon, looking at Gloria in disgust while getting ready for the party. "Fine, I'll just wear those then," said Gloria while thinking about how much they sometimes question each other's outfit choices.

The lodge looked beautiful with fairy lights lighting up the place and Wadecroft forest near the venue. " How long do you plan to stare at me like that." said the Anatomy class guy coming up to Gloria sipping his beer. "I wasn't staring," said Gloria realizing that she was too drunk to notice that she has been staring at him long enough to make him feel awkward while Sharon was busy playing ping-pong. "Btw, I am Cameron Maxwell and you are...". "Gloria Willis," she said. "So, what made you choose medicine." Cameron asked." Well, I like animals, hence Veterinary, what about you?". "Oh, I have a family lined up with doctors, so for me, it was pretty obvious," said Cameron while they made their way through the crowd to a quieter place. 

Cameron and Gloria were busy discussing random things when everyone suddenly heard a sudden scream from the forest. "Let's all go check together. Make sure to form groups." said one of the seniors, and everyone followed. Another scream was heard a while after but this time it was a man. 

"Oh my God, she's dead...."
