“We’re going to get our stuff. If you’re going, get in his car. If you’re not, stay here and we’ll leave for Heaven together because the thought of us separating terrifies me,” I gathered everyone’s attention, clapping my hands together as Zack and I entered the living room. My hair was mostly dry, and I scrunched it up.

Av frowned at me, giving me a thumbs-up, “You good?”

“Better than I was before,” I nodded. “No more calling people whores, ‘kay?” I looked around at the group. “We’re family. We can tease, but whore sort of crosses a line.”

There was a collection of nodding. I looked back at Zack, “Stuff.”

“Stuff,” he nodded, and we headed for his car. Eros slipped into the backseat, as did Apollo.

“Treble-” Apollo started.

“Don’t even bother, sunshine. I’ve moved on,” I laughed. “Are the others staying?”

“Nah, Taylor’s driving them,” Eros said quickly. “He needs some space. Kinda pissed at me for what I said to you.”

“Tell him to get over it,” I nodded. “Being pissed won’t put the words back in your mouth.”

“That’s what I told him,” Apollo said. “And you obviously don’t care too much. We all know you could beat the living shit out of Eros.”

“Hey!”

“But you weren’t going to,” Apollo finished. “C’mon, Eros, we all know you bend to her will…er, most of the time.”

“Most of the time I’m not feeling lusty around her,” he shrugged. “She could kick my ass with her eyes closed and her hands tied behind her back.”

“You just want her to touch your ass,” Zack said under his breath. “I like when you touch my ass.”

“I know you do,” I rolled my eyes with a soft giggle. “You and Tay are gonna make up, right?”

“Yeah. If there’s one thing I learned from Zack it’s that demons need space unless you want to bleed out,” Eros chuckled, making Zack blush furiously. I patted Zack’s knee gently, hand lingering on his leg as my eyes flashed to his.

“Tease,” he said as softly as the wind on a spring morning.

I looked back at Eros, “You’ve been dethroned, oh mighty zombie slayer.”

He sighed dramatically, “Yes, I know. Avalon is now the goddess of zombie slaying. It’s an unfortunate time for me.”

“What’s up with you declaring people the gods and goddesses of things?” Zack chuckled. “You’ve declared me the god of quite a number of things,” he eyed the god in the rearview mirror.

“Gods and goddesses are the highest you can get in terms of power,” he shrugged. “According to humans, that is.”

“What did you declare him the god of?” I turned around the look at Eros. He blushed, harder than Zack was. “Time to pick some brains.”

“No, no, no!” Eros covered his ears. “No, I’ll tell you, just please don’t look in there!”

I raised an eyebrow at him, “Any particular reason?”

“Yeah, a lot of particular reasons. Thoughts you aren’t going to want to see, okay? Trust me on this, Treble,” he nodded. I waited for him to go on, steering clear of each of his thoughts. “Okay, so when we were…together…we were…wild to say the least.”
