a/n: This is the last chapter of the story! Thank you for reading! ^^

"How are you feeling, Namjoon?" Yoongi asked, from the side of the hospital bed. Hoseok could tell that he was extremely worried for his friend. Even when Yoongi was getting treated for the frostbite that was in fact in his ankle, all he could think about was Namjoon in surgery. Hoseok couldn't blame him, they were all worried. Seokjin wouldn't stop wringing his hands together, unusual for the elder to do.

Namjoon scoffed, "I've been better, Min." but he gave a cheeky smile at his partner, who smiled back. They were all relieved when Namjoon's surgery had gone well. A week in the hospital and—he should be back to new. Well, almost new.

Taehyung had been diagnosed with dehydration and over exhaustion, but asides from some bruising and all the emotional trauma—he would be fine, eventually. It wouldn't be an easy road to recovery, but Taehyung was strong, and he'd gained six friends along the way that would help him in any way possible.

Then there was Jungkook. He hadn't been at the apartment when Hoseok eventually got back. He called out for the other, but Jungkook never showed up. Hoseok guessed he had finally passed on for good this time. Sure he was sad, but he was also glad that ghost Jungkook could finally let go and move on to another life. It wasn't fair for him to keep living like that, dead and yet—not completely gone.

The trial had gone as smoothly as trials could be. The man had confessed to killing Jeon Jungkook and all the victims in cold blood. Demon or not, he didn't seem sorry for killing so many innocent people. Hoseok, Namjoon, and Yoongi had all accompanied Taehyung to the hearing. Taehyung gripped Hobi's hand tight when the man had started going into gory details of the killings. Describing his gleeful joy of killing Jeon Jungkook for stealing the man that was supposed to be his. He said how the rush from Jungkook's killing only spurred him to continue on, until he was certain no one beautiful would ever come close to Taehyung's beauty, or until he had Taehyung to himself, whichever came first. Hoseok guessed that after Jungkook's killing was when the demon had gotten the man in his grasps.

Hoseok had been learning a lot about his abilities since the incident had passed. He become aware of the spirits roaming the street alongside humans. The auras that everyone projects. At first, he'd been extremely apprehensive about it all, but after talking to Seokjin, who experience some of what Hobi did though on a smaller scale, and Yoongi who was supportive through it all, even if the male didn't quite understand everything that Hobi was experiencing, he was able to grow more confident in his abilities. At least, he wasn't scared of them now.

Namjoon and Seokjin had started dating, to no one's surprise. The two balanced each other out perfectly. Jimin and Taehyung, somewhere along the lines had become extremely close friends. Taehyung moving back into town spurred Jimin to move out of his brother's apartment so that they could live together.

"I'm tired of you guys sexiling me from my own apartment!" Jimin said with barely there exasperation as Taehyung chuckled beside him, helping carry boxes out from Jimin's room to his car.

" Your own apartment? I bought the place!" Seokjin argued, slapping Jimin on the shoulder, making the younger almost drop the box he was holding.

"Maybe you bought it, but I helped pay the rent!"

Hoseok shook his head in fake annoyance. He supposed they wouldn't be brothers if they didn't bicker every now and again—or all the time.

"Okay Jiminie, is that everything?" Taehyung asked near the door, dusting packing box debris off his hands. Namjoon poked his head inside Jimin's now mostly empty room and gave an affirmative yes.

"What am I going to do with that room?" Seokjin pondered as he pulled Namjoon to his side.

"You could always let Namjoon move in." Jimin piqued up.

Seokjin scoffed, "If Namjoon moved in he wouldn't need his own room, he'd be sleeping with me." That caused a ruckus roar from his friends, Namjoon looking a mix of embarrassed yet extremely flattered.

Seokjin laughed along at the expression on Namjoon's face. "I'd offer for you to move in with me Hoseokie, but—"

"That's alright hyung, I think I've grown accustomed to living by myself." Hoseok couldn't help the proud smile on his face. He'd finally done what he set out to do, he proved to everyone that Jung Hoseok was no scaredy cat, he could take care of himself. Glancing over at Yoongi, he saw the male had a matching proud smile, solely for Hobi.

Everything seemed right in the world, and Yoongi? Yoongi was just fine, spending every ounce of his free time with Hoseok, his sun, the light that cut through the darkness.

"Are you finally going to read that book?" Yoongi asked, coming down to plop next to Hobi on the latter's couch. The Hobi was currently turning the book Jungkook had gotten for him years ago over and over in his hands. The golden filigree " Waiting For You" sparking as the light hit it at different angles.

He nodded, "I think I owe it to him to read this. And besides, I kinda miss the ghost."

Yoongi gave a dramatic gasp, "Jung Hoseok, the guy who chose insomnia over coming back to his ghost infested apartment for a whole three days, misses his ghost?"

Hobi pushed him playfully, "Crazy how people change, huh?" He teased, leaning over to peck the detective on the cheek, but Yoongi turned to look at him last second, causing their lips to collide instead.

If the detective was shocked, he didn't show it. The kiss lasted much longer than the peck Hoseok had been planning, but he wasn't complaining. Far from it.

When they pulled away, it was easy to get lost on the Yoongi's purposeful stare, in his adorable gummy smile directed straight at him, because of him, for him. It was easy to forget the traumas that they had been through, but that didn't mean that Hoseok hadn't learned from them.

From the heroes around Hobi, he's realized that being a hero doesn't always mean the bravest, or the strongest, or even the cleverest, it only meant that you're doing what you can to help others, to make them feel stronger than before. Jung Hoseok was no longer waiting for a hero, he'd found one in himself.
