Almost Ten Years Later.
The students in Bakugou's class at Orudera Middle School hooted and hollered as their teacher praised their quirks and urged his support for them to pursue a hero career.
Bakugou waited for the day where his irritating classmates could keep his name out of their annoying mouths.
"What about you Bakugou?"
"Yeah, what are you going to study? Clearly it won't be the hero course."
He growled. "I'll have you losers know that I'm going to take the UA entrance exam! For the hero course!"
The students hardly responded. A series of "Oh, Okay"s and scoffs. No one was in the mood to argue with Katsuki on his delusions today.
Tch. They'll see.
Here in middle school, there was no hero training. Using your power was even against the rules in most cases. Katsuki was okay with this.
This way he couldn't fall behind. Bakugou was very smart, and was usually top of his class, academic wise. He only ever tied with Midoriya. His entire class knew he was capable within his book smarts. But they doubted his ability to get into the hero course of UA because to them,
Quirkless = Useless.
Katsuki used to be guilty of this thinking as well. In fact sometimes, when he was feeling less than adequate, he still was. He couldn't count the amount of times he wished he had Deku's quirk. Then turned around and hated himself for thinking that.
Well he could count the number of holes he'd punched in his walls.
Would be about the same.
"If that's the path you want, then I wish you the best of luck Bakugou!" His teacher sounded like he was saying goodbye instead of good luck.
"Oh! And you too Midoriya. You want to go to UA too, right? With a quirk like yours, you'll get in for sure!"
The class was more lively when the attention was on Deku.
"Oh well, thank you guys," He stammered over his words, the class' compliments and encouragement making him self conscious.
"Kacchan, I think you should take the UA exam! I mean it couldn't hurt to try right?"
"Shut it Deku, I was going to whether you thought I should or not."
-----------------
As he walked home from school, alone, Katsuki thought back to the conversation in class.
Who was he kidding? How was he going to pass the UA exam without a quirk? He had no idea what the test consisted of. For all he knew it could be tournament style. Against the right person Katsuki would be out first match.
Against Deku, Katsuki would be out the first match. Though he hated to admit, he wasn't fire proof.
As Katsuki walked with his hands in his pockets an unfamiliar voice came from behind him.
"Hey kid~"
Before Bakugou could blink he was encased in thick green slime.
"What... the hell?!?"
