Fade Away (a poem)

Silence, my loudest scream.

Vacancy, my only emotion.

Everyone needs someone to lean on,

Volunteers?

I won’t ask.  Stubborn: I'm left to fall,

Fall on my own,

Fall until I hit the ground

Years will come and go

Will my past go away?

No, yet the scars will heal

Falling, I thought

No one would catch me

I caught myself.
