'Cause you're amazing just the way you are
And when you smile the whole world stops and stares for a while
- Just the Way You are, Bruno Mars ----
Wat's POV
Time seemed to be more lenient to Tine, he looked like the boy who bumped into me during Scrubb's concert in my high school days. The only thing different was that the boy was wearing a uniform and I didn't know what his name was back then. This time, Tine was wearing a matching suit as he walked down the aisle, I was very sure that he would be the love of my life, forever and beyond.

Man had dragged me along to Scrubb's concert forcefully, insisting that we needed to have some fun as our mid-terms ended. Coincidentally, it was held at the university that I was interested to enrol in, so, I promised to come along.
It was a free-admission concert, probably to attract more high school students to come to the university. The air was humid and the torrid sun was almost burning me up, Scrubb's songs were gold but they were useless in soothing the increasing discomfort I was in.
Suddenly, a pang of pain shot up from my left foot along my spine to my brain, effectively pulling me out from my daydream as I listened to Scrubb's concert boringly. I felt someone fell backwards into me and I stumbled a few steps before composing myself.
What the hell? I'm going to k...
"Khor thot khrap." The boy who bumped into me turned and apologised to me.
Oh, cute.
"Mai pen rai."
It wasn't really a big deal.
My attention wasn't on the stage or on the music anymore, my focus was zeroed in on the pretty boy in front of me. He was jumping excitedly according to the rhythm and tempo, his bunny smile was so alluring that I had forgotten about the heat and humidity surrounding me.
Scrubb's songs felt a lot livelier as I watched the boy indulging himself in the music. I've never seen someone who enjoyed music as much as he did.
As he turned his back for the second time, I was very confused.
Did I step onto him just now?
"Hey, maybe, we could go for a coffee later?"
Oh, coffee?
His doe eyes reflected the glorious blaze of the sun and his plump lips were slightly apart, his pearly white teeth rested on his lower lip, tempting me to stare at it longer than appropriate.
Snap!
"Uhm, sure, thanks." Heat spread slowly across my cheeks and I could feel my face cracking from the big smile I was showing him.
I couldn't remember how the rest of the concert went or how the concert eventually ended, I could only remember him jumping happily with a bright smile on his face till the last note Scrubb had played.
At that moment, I knew I had fallen for him, I had fallen hard for him.
///
Reflexively, I gripped his wrist tightly when I saw him planning to leave with his friend. I thought he had forgotten that he had asked someone if they wanted to get coffee with him earlier. I couldn't let this opportunity slip, I wanted to know more about him.
And hopefully, we could be more than friends.
"I thought we're going to get coffee?"
His doe eyes held the universe for me, as if we were the only two remaining on earth and things around us were destroyed completely.
"Oh, sure sure. Just give me a second."
He must have forgotten about our promise just now.
I sulked internally and released his wrist hesitantly, promising to wait for him at the main entrance. Man was looking at me intently as he witnessed how the event unfolded.
"My friend, how was the concert? I told you it's going to be fun." Man wriggled his eyebrows comically.
"It's was okay." I lied smoothly.
"Really? What about that boy just now?"
"He stepped on my shoes accidentally, so we are going to get coffee later?"
"Oh, is that all?"
"Chai."
"Can you get me his phone number then? We would make a good pair." Man rubbed his palms excitedly.
"Mai!" I slapped Man's shoulders repeatedly until he winced in pain, hoping to slap some senses into him.
"Arai wa?"
"He is mine!" I shouted loudly, only to realise Man pulled a prank on me when he smirked wickedly.
"See? I told you, it's going to be fun. I'll head off first then, enjoy your date! Use protection by the way."
F'ck this dork.

I was scrolling through my photo gallery aimlessly. I took a few photos while strolling in the university before the concert started. My attention was drawn to one particular photo taken near the stage. There was a boy standing at the edge of the stage, smiling so widely as he watched Scrubb tuned their guitars attentively. I felt sunshine and sunflowers blooming from the bottom of my heart.
"Hey."
I lifted my head and saw that smile in the photo came to life.
"Hey there."
Oh my God, he is the same person?
Suddenly, I wasn't sure if my cheeks were burning due to the heat or due to the amount of fluffiness I was experiencing.
"Should we go?" He asked politely.
I nodded my head and followed him like a puppy following its owner. I wanted to break the silence between the two of us, but I still didn't know what his name was.
I'm Sarawat, you can call me Wat. I'm Sarawat, you can call me Wat. I'm Sarawat, you can call me Wat.
I practised the line in my mind thrice before I rolled the sentence frictionlessly on my tongue, praying that I didn't stutter in front of that pretty boy. My palm was left hanging in the middle of the air, waiting for him to accept my handshake.
"Oh, I'm Tine."
Tine, such a cute name for someone as pretty as you.
When our palms touched, it felt like he was actually fondling with my heart. My heart was shaking and I almost stumbled forward as my legs gave out. The only thing that supported me was Tine's iron grip, which started to get tighter and rings of red mark were forming on my hand.
"Tine? It hurts."
"Khor thot khrap." He apologised again, I've lost count of how many times of 'khor thot khrap' we had exchanged for the day.
"It's okay, coffee?" I knew I definitely looked like an idiot with that wide smile on my face now.
"Tea or me?"
What? Is he flirting with me now?
"You."
Well, two can play this game together.
"You don't have to like me very much, just keep your heart open for me."
Our eyes met, cheeks flushed, fingers crossed. We managed to get our coffees as planned, and out of the plan, we exchanged our Line ID.
That night, I snuggled in my blanket contently as I stared at that bunny face on my phone screen.
"Good night, Tine."
"Good night, Wat."
