chapter 6: confession

The next day when I woke up, i was in my room. I got up and yawn. I walked out of my room and saw Jack, Jeff, and Ben. I waddled up to Jack and hugged him from behind.
" Morning, Jack."
He tensed slightly and turned to me.
"Hey, there buttercup. How'd you sleep?"
" Buttercup?" Jeff and Ben smirked.
Jack blushed. As revenge, I hugged Jeff and Ben.
" Morning, Jeffy. Morning, Benny."
I heard jack hold back a laugh. I let them go and saw their red faces. Jack smirked at them.
" Taste of your own medicine."
They grumble and walk back into the kitchen. Jack and I high five.
" Dream team!" We smirked.
They roll their eyes at us. Jack picks me up and carries me around.
" Onward, jacky!" I laughed.
The rest of the morning, we all messed around, joked, and played. A knock came from the door making us stop.
" Whos there?" Jeff asked.
" Its me." Slender's voice spoke.
Jack runs upstairs with me and hid me in his closet. I covered my mouth and tried to stay quiet. Jack left a gap in the door, standing in front of it.
" Be ready to run." He whispered.
I nodded and we both waited.

(Jeff's p.o.v.)
Hesitantly, I opened the door and let slender in.
" What is it?"
" I want to talk to all three of you."
" You know Jack doesn't want to see you. Just tell us what you have to say, and we'll relay the message to him."
Slender sighs.
" No, I need all of you. Is he in his room?"
" No, he....went hunting."
" You're not a good lair, Jeff."
" Just go!"
Slender crosses his arms as he looks down at us.
" You're hiding something from me."
Creeking came from the stairs and we turned to see Jack there.
" What do you want slender?"
" What are you hiding from-!"
" We're not hiding shit. I just don't want you near me and if I can lie to get out of one of our unpleasant visits, then I will!"
It was silent for a moment.
" Now, what do you want?"
" I came to talk about this living situation. You barely have enough room and this is getting ridiculous, jack."
Jack growled. " The fucking law says as long as we do missions for you, you shut the hell up and we do or live wherever. Get out."
" Jack-!"
" Get out of my house!"
Slender sighs and leaves. Once he was gone, we heard (y/n) come downstairs. She hugged Jack and looked at us.
" You guys okay?"
We nodded and we all tried to relax.

(Y/N's p.o.v.)
The day passed without incident, Jeff and Jack went out hunting, leaving me and ben to play games at home.
" How do you keep wining!?"
Ben gave me a smirk.
" You're playing with a glitch, hon."
" No fair, Ben! You cheat!"
He laughed at me as the front door opened.
" We're back guys!" Jeff smiled.
" And we got you more clothes and food, (y/n)."
I stood up, walking over to them both.
" Thanks guys."
I gave them both hugs and Jeff chuckled.
" Im making burgers tonight. Wanna help?"
I gave him a nod as Jack took the clothes to my room.
" Since when do you know how to cook?" Ben laughs.
" Hey, I can be surprising."
" Buttercup, don't eat what he makes! He'll make ya sick!" Jack called from upstairs.
" Come down here and say that to my face, eyeless jack-ass!"
Ben and I laughed at them as their argument continued.
"Are they always like this?"
" you have no idea." Ben grinned.
I started to cook as the two continued the argument. I turned to Ben.
" slender did have a point earlier. How long can you and Jeff sleep on a couch and recliner?"
"Don't worry about us. We'll manage."
I gave a nod.

After Jack and Jeff had their argument, Jack walked over to me.
"I'm glad you're cooking."
"Oh shut up! You don't even eat human food."
Jeff called from the living room.
"True, but at least no one else will get sick." Jack called back.
I laughed and turned to Jack.
" You're sweet, Jack."
He shrugged. I paused for a moment, then stood in the tippy toes and kisses his cheek.
I heard him gasp as the sound of Ben and Jeff whistling filled the air. I smiled up at him then the words just came out.
" I love you."

Jack stood there for a moment before I noticed that new black tears fell from his eyeless sockets.
"Jack? You okay?" Ben asked.
Jack responses by picking me up and spinning me around. Jeff and Ben cheered.
"Fucking finally!" Jeff smirked.
"I love you too." He mumbled, ignoring Jeff.
I smiled and hugged him close. Jeff took over cooking as Jack just laid with me on the couch for the rest of the time. Yawning, my eyes started to feel heavy then soon, sleep took over.

(Jeff's p.o.v.)
Once (y/n) was asleep, Jack picked her up and walked to the stairs.
" I guess one of you guys can have her old room."
Then he headed upstairs. Ben turned to me.
" you can have it bro. I'm use to sleeping on a couch anyways."
I nodded and we both had some burgers. Ben cringed, before laughing.
" Jack's right man...you can't cook."
I rolled my eyes and flipped him off, making him laugh.
