"Okay, we'll be safe Ken."
"Yea. Bye mom. "
"Bye, Puppy! Love you."
Kyotani internally smiled. He was headed to the bus stop so he could go to school. He closed his front door and started walking. It was a disgustingly beautiful day. One days like these he wished that he hadn't broken his skate board. The only way to make this bright day a bit gloomier was to listen to some music. It was mostly just stuff like Train, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nirvana.
He pulled out his Bluetooth headphones (I personally imagine him with back beats) and connected his phone. He clicked in his playlist and continued walking to the bus station. Surprisingly when he got there so was a girl. Being the anti-social jerk he is, he said nothing.
But he studied the girl. She was a bit shorter than him, maybe 5'7 or 5'6
She had h/l h/c hair and some of the flyest shoes he'd ever seen in his life. The bus pulled up to the curb and the girl and him took their seats on the vehicle. Kyotani was in the middle of his favorite song: Unwell by Matchbox Twenty when his headphones suddenly switched to a song he didn't know. "Bitch, im smoking gas in my chambers like it's the... we're sorry your lyric cannot be completed because, ay you little darkie..?"
WTF? Did someone hack my shit?
He was about to announce his problem to his fellow passengers when he realized no one was wearing headphones. In fact it was 6:30 in the morning. Most of the passengers
were asleep. He looked around for anyone on their phone. He spotted the girl from the station directly across from him, in a window seat. She was clearly agitated. She kept tapping at her phone in one spot. And another thing... She was wearing headphones. He got up and took the seat next to her.
"Can I help you?" The girl asked.
"Actually you can. If you're listening to music that is more people screaming in your ear than lyrics, hate to break it to you but I think your phone is connected to my headphones."
"Shit. Im sorry i thought it was malfunctioning or something." She tapped aggressively on the screen. The music was still blaring in Kyotani's ears.
"You're good but could you maybe stop the music? I'm getting tired of this guy yelling bitch in my ear."
She smiled and laughed, " Yea I can do that. "
"Thanks. My name is Kyotani."
" Nice to meet you Kyotani. I'm l/n."
The weird music stopped crashing around in Kyotani's head and the two were left in awkward silence.
"Thanks. Want me to see if I can fix your headphones?"
"No problem and you can definitely try. If you got to the stupid things to work I would kiss you."
"Okay bet. I have to fix them now. Hand em over"
She laughed and handed him the f/c set. Kyotani shut off his Bluetooth and reset both her phone and the headphones. Even if he didn't like it, he had a few people he would call friends that showed him what to do when it came to tech.
"Okay try it now."
Y/n connected her headphones to her phone and played some music. Kyotani, who was wearing her headphones Heard the music loud and clear. Money Tress by Kendrick Lamar.
"Alright" he said smiling. He pulled off the headphones and gave them back. "There fixed. So where's my kiss?"
"Good try, nice boy"
"Trust me baby I am anything but nice" Kyotani said. When he said This he moved a bit closer to her wanting to fluster her, just cause he felt like it. To his dismay she did no such thing. But he found himself admiring that about her.
"Oh really? So you fixed my headphones out of the non-existent kindness of your heart?" The pretty girl said.
"No," he answered, continually leaning closer to her. "I did it because I didn't want your shit blasting in my ears."
"Couldn't handle my music?" She leaned closer to him, Kyotani saw her glance down at his lips while she licked her own.
Y/n and Kyotani's noses were going to touch soon if they kept leaning toward each other.
"No answer?" The girl asked.
Kyotani was too flustered himself to even comprehend that she was asking him a question. This wasn't his plan. His plan was to flirt and make her flustered, just for fun. But now she was flirting back and he was in unfamiliar territory. He had only had a few girls actually take a interest in him before.
The bus stopped. Kyotani had to get off.
"Well as much as I'd like to continue this conversation, this is my stop."
"You go to Aboa Josai?" Kyotani was shocked.
"Yea" they both stood up. Kyotani grabbed his bag from the floor and let the girl lead the way off the bus. And she tripped on the curb.
"Not a word skater Boy"
"How did you know I skate?"
The girl pointed to a pin on his bag that said, "yea I skate. So what?"
"Oh." Kyotani couldn't believe he was being so dumb.
"Yea. Kind of a tell tale sign."
"I'll walk."
The two walked in comfy silence, until they got to the school. Then they heard yelling.
(This is gonna be one of my longest chapters. I just didn't want to stop.)
