I locked up to the Spine and breathed in the fresh mountain air. It had been three days since i started hunting the cave bear. As i inhaled the air i noticed the stench of rotten flesh. I followed the smell to a cave just nearby. I felt my blood rushing as i walked in. My horns scraped the ceiling wen i ventured further into the cave. I roared to wake the sleeping bear to make it a fair fight. Small stones fell from the ceiling and i heard a growl deeper from the cave. I slowly backed away to get room to use my horns. Was eight and a half foot long and i knew my best advantage was my horns. The bear slowly crawled out of his cave inspecting her foe. She stood up and roared to show her strength. Even for a cave bear this she was huge and was almost taller than me.
I bended my neck and prepared my self to charge. The bear noticed the change and growled to give me a change to run. I let up a roar and started running. As soon as i got close the bear jabbed me across my forehead. I got thrown to the side and saw colours dancing at the edge of my vision.
The bear showed no mercy and aimed for my neck. I just about managed to escape her jaws by throwing myself to the right. I quickly stood up and rammed the bear in the chest. I felt my horns bury into the fur butt only causing minor wounds to the bear. I realised that i couldn't defeat the bear with my horns. I needed a new tactic. The bear growled and jabbed the back of my head. Luckily her claws didn't hit me. But the sheer force was overwhelming. The bear seemed to think it had won because it crouched down to feed on my flesh. I saw my chance. I shot up and wrangled my arms around his neck. The bear growled and tried to fight it but without use. I strangled the bear until it hanged dead in my arms. I hanged the bear across my back and started walking north to Darzing.I locked up to see that i had reached my goal. I sighed and with new energy i started walking the last bit. I heard impressed talking and murmuring. It felt irrelevant for me. I sighed and dropped the bear and started falling.
I woke up and locked around me. It toked a couple of seconds before i realised that i was in the shamans hut. I tried to stand up but was stopped by a overwhelming pain in my back and head.
Suddenly i realised that I've just killed a cave bear. I smiled and enjoyed myself for a minute. Very few hunted cave bears when you needed to kill a wild animal to be accepted as an adult even less succeeded. Many of which who succeeded eventually became clan leaders. Thats a funny thought me a leader. All i knew for certain was that my life was not normal.
