"Sometimes life's a mess." -Juice Wrld. If middle school has taught me anything in 3 years, it's that life is often just that, a mess. It's never going to be pretty and perfect. Well, maybe during summer breaks and spring break of 2021. Those were pretty great.

No fear. There is going to be a lot of opportunities to do things that people will call you crazy for throughout middle school. You might not be bungee jumping or skydiving just yet, but you're definitely going to need to be brave to do some things. Jumping 2'6" without hands, or standing on your bike frame going 100 miles an hour? Now that sounds simple to me, but to you, I bet that sounds terrifying. Mentally you'll have to do the same. Getting on and off planes to Vegas. Leaving behind old friends that turned out to be toxic. Letting go of Niko to move on to Brindle Ridge where you'll meet Dealer Man. It'll be scary. Some of the biggest risks you've ever taken and ever will are going to happen. If it scares you, do it. It's all the more reason to do it. If you don't you'll regret it later. So run with your friends into places you're scared to and probably shouldn't be in. Say what you want to say, even if it's risky. Take that jump, and don't fear the fall. No fear.

No regrets. When things are great, hold onto it for as long as you can. They don't stay that way forever. You'll lose a lot by the time you get through 8th grade. You'll gain a lot too. You'll make and break a lot of friendships. If people want to leave, don't beg them to stay, let them go. That's not on you, that's on them. And of course, it's okay to miss someone. Just don't ever forget why they aren't in your life anymore. You can't keep looking over your shoulder and saying you wish you wouldn't have done something, it's too late for that. You can't go back. You can wish all you want, but you can't change the past. So change the future. There's a time where you're going to be missing you're best friend, and regret leaving. Let it go. There's a time where you're going to play a simple game of truth or dare with your childhood best friend, and you're going to regret telling them something. Let it go. There's a time where you'll let yourself get close to someone, but it'll end up in flames. Technically that's current, but, I don't regret getting close to them anymore, despite the fires. I did. But I let it go. It's going to hurt. No regrets.

Never look back. After you go through with things, if they turn out bad, don't look back and overthink things and let them hold you back from everything in front of you now. Don't look back on the things that happened when you were however old, and let them keep you from things because you don't want to go through them again or get hurt. If you keep looking back at the past, you're going to get caught there and miss what's in the present. Then it becomes an endless cycle of regrets and fears, all because you're looking back, or down, or anywhere but straight ahead. If it's out of your control, don't worry about it. It's not worth the worry. Stop looking back on things that make you sad and bring you down when you have better things to look at. Never look back.

Those are kind of the things you'll learn to live by. No fear, no regrets, never look back. One day, you'll leave middle school behind, the same way you left Niko and your old friend groups and will leave high school and college, and you'll have to rely on memories, both good and bad, to hold on. One day, you'll leave the whole world behind, so live a life you will remember. So just remember;

No fear, no regrets, never look back.
