After that traumatic and life scarring encounter , i promptly moved towards the fringe of the forest .

As i headed further out of the forest , towards the fringe , the vegetation started to thin out .

I soon arrived at an area a short distance away from the entrance of the forest . it was a small open grass field , with trees surrounding it .

Looking side to side , i checked for any magic beasts or humans .

Good , it seems clear.

Ok , let's start with creating a mana barrier , since that didn't turn out so great previously .

I gathered mana at my index finger , carefully picturing the mana circle , and began drawing it .

Pushing mana through the completed circle , it lit up , glowing in a white with a tinge of blue color .

Suddenly , a barrier appeared in front of me , looking like a great shield shielding me .However , the barrier itself was translucent , almost clear , in the same shade of the glow that was emitted .

Hmmm , i guess that is my mana's color.

I tried experimenting with a few other basic spells for water mages , however it proved to be difficult .

When i attempted to try creating water , a large blob of water appeared , nothing like what the book said . The book said that " it creates a blob , about a fist size , of water . "

I saw nothing resembling a , i quote , 'fist size' .

That was not all , on attempting to use water jet , a spell that creates a water jet just powerful enough to disarm or daze a human opponent .

However , when i activated it , aiming for a tree as a test subject , the water just was like a torrent of water , cutting the tree cleanly in 2 .

What is wrong ? Everything is not going as the textbook said .

I sat down on a rock , trying to wrap my head around the odd phenomenal . Like a lightning bolt striking a tree , a idea , or theory , popped in my head .

It could be my mana that is the issue . Mother did mention something about enormous mana capacity or something along those lines .

Theory: Due to an abnormal mana capacity , normal spells would have a higher output .

(A/N : the underlined stuff is like what is displayed in the head , basically , like a thought that pops up )

Sounds about right .

Problem : Unintended outcomes for spells .

Hmmm , now how should i approach this new problem .

Ahhh ! I got it .

Solution : Try a different method or practice mana control .

Let's try the first one , because i hate tedious things .

HMmmm , different method .

But using mana stone require the user to pour mana through it , not really going to help my case here .

Suddenly , i recalled something , it was a research paper on magic by someone .

It said something like ' magic can also be used by uttering mana infused words '.

It went  on to elaborate how , stating that though needing more mana , it ensures that the end result is what is expected .

I think the exact words on how to use it was " To use , imagine the desired outcome clearly , then , utter a simple description , infusing those words with mana . For example , while picturing a sword made of briars , say 'Briar sword ' infused with mana . "

Hmmm seems simple enough .

But if it is this simple , why doesn't any book i read mention it .

Ohhhh , i think i know why . The author of the paper was William Heldor .

I guess people like us don't like to make their work public .

For good reason too , i said internally .

Okay , let's try it out now .

I closed my eyes , picturing a whip made out of water .

" Water whip "

I peeled open my eyes . In my right hand was the handle of a whip . It was made out of water , but yet , when i touched it , i could firmly grasp it .

Seems like i can change properties of water if i can picture it well enough .

Might come in handy in the future .

I aimed for a tree branch , in my mind picturing it to be cut off by the whip .

When the whip hit , it was sliced cleanly off .

I guess i can regulate it .

After practicing a few more spells , i felt exhausted .

I sat down on a nearby rock , catching my breath .

However , as my hair cascaded in front of m eyes like a waterfall , i noticed something odd about it .

It was white .

WHITE!

My hair color was brown , so how had it turned white all of a sudden .

Wait , it was not pure white , it had tinges of light , extremely light , blue mixed in .

Still , looks white from afar .

I can to a realization .

I had always wondered whether i was Father's child , because Father had crimson red hair , while Mother on the other hand , had light green hair .

When i was younger , i would compare my brown hair to my parent's hair , wondering whether i was really their child .

Well , now i know the answer .

I'm guessing that releasing lot's of mana can impact the hair .

That the mana , looking for a way to escape , travelled to the hair , dyeing it it's shade in the process .

But the real problem was that while Father's and Mother's red and green hair was rather normal , white hair was uncommon .

URgh , i feel a headache coming .

Well , i guess i have to wait till this wears off , don't want anyone seeing the white hair .
