*At the Plaza*

"Hey, Larry," I say as I pass by the doorman who's been working at the plaza-like complex I live in for the past 7 years. Even though I ran a backround check on him a couple years back, I knew that I really didn't need to. He's one of those kindly old people who happens to be the only other person on the planet that I trust.

"Why, hello, Miss Aster! Fancy seeing you out and about in the middle of the day! What's the occasion? Seeing someone special?" "Oh, mind your own business," I say, throwing him a lopsided smile. He hold his hands up in defense. "Just asking, Miss," he says, his playful eyes teasing me back. "It's high time you bring someone special into your life, much less this plaza." I unsuccessfully try to hold back from rolling my eyes.

"Look, I'm gonna be up in the room, ok? Tell management I'll order food from there. Oh, and if someone comes with a seductive-looking red dress, could you tell them to leave it at the front desk? It's for later." I say over my shoulder as I start walking back to the elevator.

"Sure thing, Miss. If you don't mind me asking, just what is this fancy red dress' purpose?" He asks, that smile back in his eyes. "Something! I have to go to! Tell ya later!" I try to say, but just then the elevator doors close and I'm left watching his body shrink to a sliver and then dissapear altogether behind the gold color of the elevator doors. I smile to myself despite my situation. Larry always makes me feel better.

Once I'm in my room, I immidetly shrug off my coat and dump my grocery bags on the floor. All I want to do is curl up in sweats and oder Chinese food, but I have work to do. I've just pulled back my hair when my phone beeps, signaling an incoming message.

Dress will be delivered shortly. Car and escort will be arriving at 7:00 pm, not a minute later. You will arrive at the awards at 7:25 pm, allowing you 25 minutes to mingle and make yourself known. During this time you will catch and keep Mr. Horan's attention and will proceed to your seat, which is exactly 3 rows back from the target. If you fail, the previous transaction of $300,000 will be removed fom your account.

I read the message once and then delete it. I know what I need to do and what will happen if I don't.

Immidietly after agreeing with my employer, I realized not only did he know in advance that I would accept, he took advantage of that and somehow arranged before hand for me and my famous ''escort'' to attend the 2012 Kid's Choice Awards where One Direction will be performing tonight for the first time ever on live T.V. I'd have thought something a little more sophisticated than green slime would do,  but it's the only award show they're booked for, and he has no idea when I'll get another chance.

But because two can play this game, I rip off my socks and head towards the bathroom.

"You should know better," I whisper, smiling in the mirror.

"Don't think I can put on a good show?

 Well, watch me."
