Chapter 46. Great news

Zachariel's P.O.V.

Will and Axel stayed in contact with me throughout the week. They were busy but still managed to call me. I had notified Will and Axel about everything that had happened after I had left the hotel. They were happy that I had found my biological parents. Axel and Will were astonished when they heard that I got engaged. We agreed to meet each other on Friday afternoon. It was soon the day of our little gathering. I was looking forward to spending time with the guys.

I called Alexei before leaving the office. Alexei was in a meeting and couldn't talk for long. Axel and Will had decided to hold the gathering at a high-end restaurant. I handed my car key to the valet when I arrived at the establishment. The guy smiled when I said to him, "Be careful with her, sir. She's a rusty girl." I made sure that I looked presentable then walked into the restaurant. A girl in a tight cocktail dress stopped me at the door. She put a fake smile on her face, then asked me, "Do you have a reservation, sir?" I shook my head, then replied to the girl with, "No, ma'am, but I'm sure that my friends do. I'm here to see Dr. Benson and Dr. Jurgen. Can you tell me if they are here yet?" The girl motioned me to follow her, then said, "They are waiting for you in one of our private rooms, sir. Please follow me." I quickly followed the girl.

Will yelled, "Zachariel!" the moment the girl opened the door. I chuckled, then stated, "This place is a little out of my league, Will." Will laughed while looking at the prices on the menu. He then walked over to me and said, "I chose this place because I wanted to thank you, Zachariel. You have done so much for me since I arrived in L.A. You didn't even forget to send me a meal when you were sick. And that is commendable." Axel smiled, then added, "I could concentrate on my work because of you, Zachariel. You have been a perfect host in my stead. Come, sit. We have a surprise for you."

I took a seat, then responded to Axel and Will with, "It was my pleasure, guys. You two would have done the same for me. I got to admit. It's nice to have a meal with friends in a fancy restaurant once in a while." We ate while chatting about the current events. I was surprised when Will asked me, "So how is your relationship with Alexei Marquis going, Zachariel?" I took a sip out of my drink, then answered Will with, "It's going unexpectedly great, Will. It feels like I'm living in a dream. Something terrible always happens when I get too comfortable. I'm trying to contain my happiness for the time being." Axel frowned, then asked me, "Wouldn't that make Alexei think that you are not content with your relationship, Zachariel?" I shook my head, then responded to Axel with, "Alexei knows what I'm going through. He understands why I'm cautious."

Axel grabbed my hand, then uttered, "If you're happy, then don't be afraid to show it to the world, Zachariel. You have tons of people who love you sincerely now by your side. They will catch you when you fall." Will smiled, then stated, "Axel is right, Zachariel. If you are happy, then why not show it? I have examined the data that Axel has gathered in the past months about you. You are healthy and have a great mindset. I don't think that you will ever suffer a severe nervous breakdown again. You may get anxious once in a while, but it won't be as severe as before. We are proud of the way you handled Andrew Waltz and Zavier Jared, Zachariel. It shows us how much you have grown and that you can handle any setback."

Axel chuckled, then declared, "And that is why we came up with another resolution for you, Zachariel." Axel grabbed a file out of his bag, then said, "Will and I noticed that you could withstand workplace stress, Zachariel. And to be honest. You have been working for a year and a half by now. I was amazed by how smoothly you handled your night shifts at the bar. We have decided to permit you to start your dream business. We will still ask people to monitor you, though. We hope that Alexei marquis and your family can lend us a hand in keeping an eye on you. We have got to make sure that you don't go off the rails again."
