"Oh come on, I went through all this trouble to observe and figure you out. Don't you think I deserve a little credit?~"

"Really?" He said raising his eyebrows clearly annoyed.

"Yup.... Oh I'll show you tomorrow if you want, your free to stay here if you like." It kind slipped out of your mouth. Instantly regretting what you said you faced palmed yourself mentally. Screaming at how stupid you were.

You didn't even know him. Could he even be trusted? Well, he helped you and hadn't shown any signs that you couldn't.... But now thinking about it, it would be nice to be with someone again. Talking to yourself only entertained you for so long.

But for him? Thank god you said it. Like hell he was going to ask you if he could stay. His pride would never let him. So was glad you did it instead. Just like you, he didn't want to be alone anymore.

"Sure" Your head snapped in his direction in an instant. Didn't expect that. He seemed so distant that you thought he would be leaving the second you were doing ok. You felt kind of relieved that he agreed on staying.

"But don't think I'm doing this for you. I'm
only staying because it increases my changes of survival" He snapped, it was like an angry mumble but still understandable.

"yeah yeah" You said with a slight smirk. "I'll get you a spare blanket" You were about to get up when...

"Don't"

"What?"

"Don't get up, I'll get it." he said walking from behind the counter "I don't want you limping around the place it annoys me."

That was a lie. But you didn't need to know that.

He gave you a look as if asking where it was. Doing a little hand movement and a shoulder shrug. Like he was saying: Are you gonna tell me? God he would even add his signature tags like dumbass or idiot. Taking the hint you pointed to the cupboard next to the fire place.

Following your finger he walked over there taking out a duvet and placing it in the couch. You placed your bowl down and asked turning to him:

"Did anything special happen when I was out?"

"Hm?" He hummed. For the record he heard what you said, it was just a way of holding off his response.

How was he gonna tell you that he basically stayed in your apartment looking around? How was he going to tell you that he had found your journal and couldn't keep his curiosity in check? How was he going to tell you he had read a couple of pages?

'Just to get to know you a little' he used as an excuse when he had first found it. Opening the notebook he saw the title.

"Experiment I

I set up a trap. I killed a bird and hung it from a lantern. Making sure blood could be seen or smelled. Next I cut my palm, smearing my blood on a stuffed animal.
( Sorry teddy ) Then I did the same as with the bird, hanging it on a lantern.

Now I'll lore a subject. Make sure you experiment at sundown as they feel more comfortable without the bright light from the sun. I threw a couple of rocks to a building not far away from my experiment zone and hid behind another.

Not soon after my beloved subject came out of the shadows. He came out running, limping and what not, you know the usual, and stopped in the middle of the two lanterns. Out of nowhere he charged to the stuffed animal. Not even looking back at the bird.

New founding: Zombies only like human blood. "

So you did experiments huh? He stopped himself from reading. A bad feeling spread through his body. It felt like he was invading your privacy. He placed the book back in the drawer of your coffee table and never touched it again.

Like hell he was going to tell you that.

"Not much" He replied. finding it kind of suspicious you let it go not wanting a fight.
You replied with a light hum and continued eating. He sat down on the couch with a sigh. Letting his hands find the back of his neck.

"How did you find me?"

"Jesus, do you ever shut up?" He grumbled.

You just giggled, to your surprise you two started talking. You found out that he had some pretty steady morals that he would abide no matter what. He had a clear view about good and bad and overall seemed pretty down to earth. Oh and don't forget the anger issues.

The conversation flowed natural. You'd crack a couple of jokes here and there. Some were appreciated and some were not. Resulting in you having to calm him down to prevent him from blowing your house up. It was nice to have a normal conversation. Like temporally escaping this current reality.

Soon the sky wasn't a mix between red and oranges but a soft dark blue. Stars shined bright with the moon. The light from outside created a nice atmosphere in your apartment. The fireplace soon stopped burning while the temperature started to drop. The two of you decided it was better If you two would head to bed. Since you planned to do a couple of things, it was better to go to sleep.

You stood up and walked... Well limped past the coffee table and grabbed some wood to put into the fire place. Reaching your hand to touch the wood you activated your quirk to let the beautiful flames dance around your hand. Once it was burning again you looked over at Bakugou. He just obsevered your movements. Then you half walked to the door and faced him. "Goodnight" You said, your voice was soft and gentle which earned you a "Night" from him.

Closing the door behind you and taking a deep breath you replayed the events of the day. A lot has happened and if someone would ask you a year ago if this would ever happen you'd declare them crazy. Walking over to your bed you grabbed your duvet and wrapped it around you, heading to your window. You sat down. Finally letting your body relax a little. The window was cold as you let your head lean on it.

Letting your eyes wonder around you saw how the street was empty.
Usually there would be a zombie or three wondering around, yelling or doing something stupid. Not that you could see very far but the light the sky gave you was enough to see if something was moving. But there was nothing. It was quiet. Too quiet.

Deciding it was just a coincidence you walked back over to you bed. You let yourself fall down not caring about what your position was covering your head with the blanket. Pulling your knees to your chest. Now that your head was so close to your knees you could see your scar.  It was slightly darker, still recovering but you were surprised of how fast  it healed.  Compared to the rest of your skin is was rough and a bit painful to the touch but it was doable.
' another one to add to your collection' you thought to yourself.

Finally letting your body relax, the exhaustion caught up to you and you fell asleep.
