A mermaid secret

This is my first story that I have posted, so please don't judge the story line.

Hi I'm Eve, I'm 16 years old and my parents died in a fire so it's just me and my Uncle Boris, he is a nice man who enjoys a laugh although it's hard to start a conversation with him he is one of those awkward uncles who doesn't talk much so sometimes I feel as if it's the world against me. Anyway this is how my story began:

I walked along at night. I felt a hand on my mouth. It was a unrecognisable boy. He was my age. That was when I was 14. He took me to the ocean. He showed me things I never saw before. Then he tried to drown me. But I could still breathe. He said swim. I swam. It was easier than before, and I looked down. I screamed. Loud. I had a ltail. Like a mermaids... But they don't exist, do they? I'm a fish, or something like that. I don't want to be something that doesn't exist. I exist. I have a brain, arms, ears, eyes, legs. I don't have legs anymore, but I can go into water out of water before ad i still have legs!!. I'm gonna find him and ask what's going on. Apparently he's some prince and I'm his sister. Wait does that mean I'm a princess. There must be some sort of mistake, I am not a princess and I live with my Uncle Boris in the village of Bude in Cornwall. This must be a dream, so when I wake up I will be in my bed in Cornwall with Boris.

Then he said 'sis, your are my sister. Please listen to me, it's in your blood to be a mermaid.'

As if, I said to myself. All I want is to go home and forget about this.

'If that is what you said is true, then prove it to me. And by the way I don't know your name? and my parents died."

Why now, I mean my mum and dad died , he could-of come them

Suddenly he said' firstly I have proven it to you because you have a tail , secondly your mum is still alive sadly your father died he was not a merman, she couldn't come for you because you wouldn't be able to breath but know you are of age and the prophecy is slowly coming true.'

'Wait what prophecy and you forgot your name?
I can't take it in, it's all to much.I just want this to be a dream. I felt like I was slowly falling, my vision was getting blurred and then blackness all around me....
