Ok so...in the first chapter I originally put that Felicia had two parents. But, since I hadn't mentioned the dad at all, I changed it so her dad died when she was little. So it's just her and her mom.

Felicia's POV

I woke the next morning with the ran-over-by-a-truck feeling. I was so tired. Unfortunately, I still had school that day. I forced myself out of bed and started to get ready. After taking a shower, I picked out a big green sweatshirt and a pair of jeans and put them on. Then I did my hair and examined myself in the mirror. Well, at least I looked somewhat presentable.

I went downstairs and walked into the kitchen. Immediately, I saw a note on the counter. It read:

Felicia, I had to go to work early so you will have to make your own breakfast. Have a good day at school! I love you. Love, Mom

I walked over to the fridge and quickly looked at its contents. I finally decided on just a banana. I grabbed all of the stuff I would need for the day and headed to my car, eating the banana as I went. I hopped in and started the engine. Nothing. I tried again. Still nothing.

"Darn it!" I yelled slamming my hand on the steering wheel. Immediately, the car horn beeped loudly. I ducked down hoping nobody saw that since I had probably just woken up the whole neighborhood. Once I was sure the coast was clear, I sat back up and grabbed my phone to call my mom.

I waited as it rang. "Hey Felicia. What's up?" My mom said after she finally picked up.

"Well...I got in my car a few minutes ago and tried to start it but nothing happened." I answered.

"Ok well I just have to finish one thing and then I'll come and pick you up. Ok?" She said.

"Ok" I answered and hung up. I sat in my car for about 20 minutes waiting for my mom to arrive. When she did I got into her car and we drove to school.

I usually tried to be at school early so I could get into class and not be bothered as much. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work and days like yesterday happen. Today I would be arriving at just the time that Cate and her girls are hanging around in the hallway. We'll see how this goes I guess.

We pulled up at the school and I got out.

"Bye Mom" I yelled as I ran into the building.

Just as I had predicted, Cate and her little band were chatting (probably gossiping) in front of the lockers. To make matters worse, they were directly in front of MY locker. My eyes widen in fear as I see them. One girl says something to Cate and nods in my direction. Cate turns around.

"Hey ugly" she said facing me.

"Umm...hi to you too, Cate." I said with my head down and eyes averted.

She yanked my hair back forcing me to look up. "Look at me when I'm talking to you" she said harshly.

"Let go of me, Cate." I demanded.

"You're just fat, stupid, and ugly. Who do you think you are telling me what to do." She said and she slapped my face. Hard.

I yelped in pain. I brought my hand up to my cheek and wiped away the tear that was falling.

"Hey!" I heard an unknown voice call. "Put her down, Cate."

"FINE" I heard Cate whine. I immediately felt the girl let go of my hair and I collapsed on the floor.

I looked up to see Zach, the most popular boy in school and also Cate's boyfriend, standing in front of Cate.

"Hey, Babe, where were you earlier? You didn't answer my texts." She asked innocently.

"I've been busy" he said coldly.

"Well, do you wanna hang out tonight? We can watch a movie." Cate asked.

"No, not tonight. I have other things to do." He replied.

"Ugh...fine!" She said as she walked away leading her little pack towards the classrooms. I just stared and watched the whole thing, dumbfounded. Someone actually stuck up for me. And not just any someone. The most popular guy in school. I bet any girl here would give anything just to be noticed by him.

"Do you need help?" Zach said, snapping me back to reality.

"Umm...sure." I said, taking his outstretched hand and getting up.

"I'm sorry for what Cate did to you. I didn't think she would do something like that." He said apologetically.

"No, it's fine. I guess I'm used to it." I said sayin the last part silently, hoping he wouldn't hear. But he did.

"Used to it? She does that often?" he asked surprised.

"Well...yea." I said softly.

"Oh" he said simply, but I could tell there was anger in his voice. "I'm Zach by the way."

"I'm Felicia."

"Nice to meet you, Felicia. I hope I'll see you around sometime. Bye" he said and walked off.

"Bye" I called after him.

"Wow...that just happened..." I mumbled to myself still in shock. The bell rang and I realized what time it was. I better get to class! I ran all the way there and say down in my usual spot, ready for another boring class.
