BREATHE MY CHILD

my little one
you did not deserve to be choked
by the rain that forbade
you to go on
forbade you to survive
and feel the pain that
dropped it's remnants
falling down

you were cascading
into a sea of blue
drenched in the lilies
that you once tore
far away

Breathe
Breathe
That was something you couldn't
do for the longest time
something you had to gasp for air
something that felt indescribably impossible

breathe
in
and out

you couldn't breathe
and that was okay,
it was okay
to run away
to a place where no one
could find you

it was okay
to hide under
the sunken sheets
decorated with the sun
and the happiness from before

if only
you had known
how exquisitely
bright you are

one day
I promise
you'll feel
the soft lilies
and textured grass
you once remembered
from a long time ago

you'll feel the rain
although they will not
be quite hard to bear

you did not deserve the pain
you had to endure
but little one
you had the strength to go on,
forever and always,
stashed into
that little, glass
heart of yours
