On the outside, Emma is your typical 18 year old girl, psyching herself every week night with assignments for her final year of school, and working at the local diner on weekends. But On the inside, Emma's mind is constantly swirling with thoughts of abuse, self harm, fights, and depression. The way her father tested her was disgusting, along with other dramas, it was his hideous and monstrous behaviour that lead to everything listed above.

Her life is turned around one day when Sydney's 5 seconds of summer move in next door. They help Emma become less depressed, and happier about herself. She becomes dependant on them for her happiness, but what happens when the band have to go away?

Once, Emma was found unconscious on her bedroom floor by her brother. Their parents were working, so he rushed her to hospital. A few hours later, their mum came, alone. That shows how much their dad loves them. The doctor said she was a lucky girl. He explained the situation, saying that she had overdosed on some pills, and began cutting herself on both wrists and thighs. Once the medication entered her bloodstream, it was too much for her body to handle, so it shut down. Now, you would think that Emma would learn something from this, but apparently not. Since then, she has been cutting just as much as before, nothing could change her mind. except Ashton Irwin, who lives next door.
