"even a shadow will leave you in darkness"
The trio were back together again, roaming the corridors of the high school. Because of last night, Stiles had been weirdly dismissive of Rosie and even ignored her when she spoke to him earlier, so she decided to back off.
"You wanna ask Derek for help? Why? Why?" He groaned, dragging his feet along the floor.
"Hes got the triskele tattooed on his back. So there has to be a way to do it without healing, right?"
"Okay, yeah but still, doesn't he have his hands a little full?" Stiles pointed to the missing posters for Erica and Boyd which were pinned to the noticeboard. Something of which, Rosie was unaware off. She lingered in front of them while Scott and Stiles found interest in the new principal finding Gerard's sword.
Knowing that she wouldn't be able to get anything out of Stiles due to him being stubborn, Rosie walked off without a word and found Lydia and Allison by the lockers. She went and stood beside them, examining the new students.
"Freshmen. Tons and tons of fresh men."
"You mean fresh boys. Lydia, they're 14." Rosie commented, making Allison laugh while she rummaged through her locker.
"Eh, some are more mature than others." Brushing Rosies comment aside, Lydia focused on the boys walking past.
"You know its okay to be single. Focus on yourself for a little while, work on becoming a better person."
"Rosie, I love you." She chuckled, turning around to finally face Rosie. "SO if you need to do that thing where we talk about me and pretend like we're not actually talking about you, or both of you even, its totally fine. But I don't want a boyfriend. I want a distraction."
Down the corridor came two identical boys holding motorbike helmets with leather jackets on, strutting their way past, knowing how attractive they are. Each of the girls looked at them, watching them get closer.
"Brothers?" Allison asked.
"Twins." Lydia answered, a smile on her face as she said it. The boys walked past, one in particular smiled at both Rosie and Lydia, smug that he had caught their attention.
"Right, lets stop oogling and get to class. I don't particularly fancy a detention on my first day." Rosie, like the mother of the group, pushed the girls into their English class on the opposite side of the corridor. As she was the first in, she took a seat where there were 3 free seats but as she turned around once more, Allisons seat was taken, by Stiles.
However, this meant that Allison had to sit in front of Scott, meaning both Allison and Rosie were seated in the most awkward positions, places they didn't want to be in right now. Watching Allison take her seat, Rosie couldn't help but feel sorry for her.
Unknowingly, she and Stiles were both watching Scotts awkward interaction and even did the same thing, giving him a sarcastic thumbs up, but only Rosie noticed this after she had done it. Making their focus change to their phones, each student had a message vibrating inside their phone from an unknown number.
"The offing was barred by a black bank of clouds and the tranquil waterway, leading to the uttermost ends of the earth flowed somber under an overcast sky, seemed to lead into the heart of immense darkness." The new brown haired teacher walked in to the class, reading off of her phone as her heels tapped in rhythm with her words. "This is the last line to the first book we are going to read. It is also the last text you will receive in this class. Phones off, everyone."
