It was 6:43 am on Saturday. I wasn't able to get any sleep. I was busy overthinking. The stress of college was absolutely killing me. The semester ends next week and I have so much work to do. It wasn't my fault I'm a procrastinator.

Reluctantly, I decided I should get up and start working on this school stuff. I got out of bed and walked to my small bathroom to take a shower. Once I was done in the shower I began to brush my long, curly, black hair. I figured I would get ready for the day and do some schoolwork at a small café and bookstore in Brooklyn that my friend Violet owned.

"Come on Baby," I said to my cat. I wanted to get her set up with water and food before I left. She had a tendency to scratch things and make the whole house a mess if I didn't set her up correctly. Once I was done with that, I grabbed my brown over the shoulder bag stuffed it with my laptop, books, and papers, and headed out the door. I walked over to my bus stop while listening to The Bee Gees.

After thirty minutes I arrived at Violet's café. I was naturally excited to see her. We had been friends since sixth grade. She was always there for me and was one of the most eccentric people I had ever met. I loved getting advice from her and listening to her talk and tell stories.

"Hey Vi," I said while the bell above the door rang out. Violet owned the most beautiful cafe/bookstore I had ever seen. It had large brown wooden tables scattered around, and big bookshelf's on the walls. There were large windows overlooking the streets and bright green plants everywhere. It felt very comfortable and felt like a second home to me.

"Hey Hailey," Violet said back while cleaning some dishes. I went into the small kitchen of the cafe and began helping Violet with the dishes. We spoke about everything together. Our love lives, our home lives and more. After we spoke and ate breakfast together, I began to work on my assignments while Violet opened up the shop for customers.

A few hours later, I was almost done and Violet came over to the table I was sitting at. It was 5 pm and she was getting ready to leave early. I could tell by the way she was looking at me she wanted something.

"There's a party at Noah's house tonight. We should go. I know you hate parties but can you please come with me? They're no fun without you." She frowned at me while waiting for my answer. She knew I hated parties and hanging out in bring crowds I was very much introverted at times and liked being alone. Although I loved meeting new people and talking parties weren't my thing and I would much rather invite Violet over to my house to hang out with her.

I was going to decline but Violet looked so nervous got my answer that I decided to just put my feelings aside and go.

"Sure," I told Violet casually. Her eyes glimmered and she started smiling.

"Really?!!?!," She was practically yelling "Ah I'm so excited i'll pick you up tonight after I get ready and we can head straight there!"

And with that I bid goodbye to Violet and began walking home. I was not looking forward to this party at all, but I wanted to make Violet happy.

I opened the door to my apartment and wondered what I should wear. I didn't party much and I don't think I had many party clothes. Eventually, I decided on a black cropped shirt and dark wash jeans. I paired it with platform Doc Martens.

A few minutes later, Violet texted me saying she was outside. I got inside her car and we started talking immediately. The drive was a few hours long. We were headed upstate.

We arrived at the party and got out of the car. Violet grabbed my hand and walked me towards the door. We entered and the house was huge. There was a giant brown, wooden, staircase. I saw granite countertops, and beautiful paintings on the walls. It was gorgeous.

The party was packed with people Violet went to get us drinks while I sat on a stool in the kitchen. It was there I saw him.

He had bright green eyes, and the sharpest jawline I had ever seen. He had to be at least 6'3. His dark brown hair was messy and disheveled. I think he's the hottest man i've ever seen. Out of nowhere he glared at me. I think he caught me staring and my face flashed bright red. Going against the butterflies in my stomach I decided to talk to him.

He was sitting all alone and looked bored. I could probably change that. Even though I was introverted I loved to talk.

"Hey," I smiled at him and he just stared. "You looked bored, mind if I sit here." I was pointed to a spot next to him and he didn't say anything. I sat next to him. "My names Hailey. I'm not from around here are you? I'm currently a college student and I was wondering are you one too??" I noticed myself rambling and decided to shut up. He didn't say anything and just glared again.

"Hailey," Violet was yelling at me. She was clearly drunk. I think it was time to get her home before she did something dumb. I bid goodbye to the gorgeous stranger and, you guessed it he just glared.

I got Violet home in her car and took the bus to my apartment. I got ready for bed and fell asleep thinking of the boy I had met at the party. I secretly hoped to see him again.
