Rhett didn't give me any time to react as he suddenly grabbed my hand and started walking, forcing me to follow him.

Chase got what he deserved. I was still confused though as to why Rhett had stopped him and how he had known. Had he been watching me?

He was going at a rapid pace, still having a hold of my hand. His was big and rough. I could see some blood on his knuckles, that had probably been caused by the strike. How hard did he hit him?

We were at a good distance from the party now and I didn't know where Rhett was taking me.

"Where are you going?!" I was a little out of breath and... tired. This day had been exhausting. Phsyically and mentally.
I needed rest.

He startled me by suddenly stopping. He looked me in the eyes, still holding my hand firmly. The second he realized, he quickly let go of it looking to the side as if roaming his thoughts.

Rhett looked back at me, noticing the dried tears on my face. His hand shot up, probably to remove them, but I flinched hard. He stepped back, his gaze still fixated on me. I couldn't read him at all.

"Are you o-" He stopped himself. Probably knowing damn well I wasn't okay.

This was the first time I had been sexually harassed. And I knew there was no way to know, but I still couldn't stop the thoughts running through my mind, making my head hurt. If I hadn't worn this dress, would it have still happened? If I didn't separate from Neo or if I hadn't gone to the party at all...

"It's not your fault." Rhett looked me deep in the eyes as if having read my mind.
"He's a fucking dick and it's not you fault." He stepped closer.

I opened my mouth to say something, but couldn't get myself to. My body started trembling as I tried controlling my breathing.

"I-" I could get no word out as my arms wrapped themselves around my body. I tried calming myself down by taking deep breaths.

"It's not, Jazzy, it's not your fucking fault." He tried reassuring me.

Once again, I felt tears running down my face. I turned away from him looking down on the ground as I saw and felt the rain starting to pour down.

As if the sky had noticed the state I was in and send the rain to wash away what had been done to me.

I didn't care about the rain. I was still struggling to keep my body in control as the tears wouldn't stop running.

Rhett placed his hand on my shoulder before gently turning my trembling body around and pressing it against his in one swift motion.

I buried myself in his embrace. Crying. Thinking about what would've happened if he had left the party and couldn't have been there to stop Chase.

The rain was still pouring and had already wet all of our clothes. We didn't care though. We stood there for a few moments.

He didn't say anything, he just let me cry it all out in his arms. Until I had no tears left. And no energy.

I could feel my legs giving in, struggling to keep me on my feet when he suddenly picked me up effortlessly and started walking. I let him. Even if I wanted to, I wouldn't have been able to stop him since I had no energy left.
