I stood and Sebastian glared at me before going over to his master, Ciel. Just then my own master walked in.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, please accept my sincere apologies for being late. I’m Alois Trancy, thank you all for coming. I see that you all enjoyed the entertainment. I’m so glad.”
He walked over to Ciel and Lizzy pulled me over as well.
“Ciel!” she squealed. “Ciel, I want you to meet my friend!”
I could tell that my master and Claude were confused but I quickly put a finger to my lips and turned to Ciel.
I bow my head politely, “Very nice to meet you, Ciel Phantomhive. I’m so glad to meet Lizzy’s fiancée.”
He nodded, “Nice to meet you.”
I looked up at Sebastian with a fake smile, “Hello.”
He glared at me before leaning down to talk to Ciel.
“Young master, I was wondering if I could have a word with Claude, if it wouldn’t trouble you. It shouldn’t take terribly long.”
My master smiled, “He can do that. Right Claude?”
He whispered something else sternly before Claude nodded. “Yes, your Highness.”
Ciel sighed, “Fine, but do it swiftly.”
Sebastian smiled, “Why yes, my young lord.”
The two of them left and Ciel turned to me.
“What is your name again?”
I smiled, “Butterfly.”
He smirked, “Well that’s a strange name.”
I nodded, “I suppose it is.”
Lizzy started to chatter to him and I turned to my master.
“Lord Trancy. May I speak with you a moment?”
He nodded and we walked over to the wall.
“What was that about? I thought you already met Ciel.”
I smiled and looked over to the Earl and his fiancée.
“I have but I was just informed by Lady Elisabeth that the young Earl has lost his recent memories and so my failed attempt at murdering him is only remembered by his butler.”
His eyes widened and he took hold of my hand, pulling me off into the hall.
He sighed and banged a fist on the wall.
“What are we going to do?! I need to get him!”
I lightly placed a hand on his shoulder, “It’s alright. We’ll find a way.”
I sighed, “Just because he has a demon too, doesn’t mean he’s invincible. He must have a weakness. If you can find it, he’ll be in the palm of your hands.”
He slapped away my hand and it instantly began to bruise. I winced and sucked in a breath.
He turned to look at my hand, “You’re that fragile?”
I quickly put my hand behind my back and looked down at the ground.
“It’s nothing, I’m fine.”
He turned to me sharply and hugged me.
“Butterfly, why does everything have to be so hard?”
I sighed and gently pushed him away. “Come now, master. You must be strong.”
“After all,” I smiled at him and put my mask back on, “This is a party. You should get back to your guests.”
He nodded and swiftly went back into the hall. I followed and watched from the side as he went and graciously spoke with his guests.
I crossed my arms. As I watched Ciel eat the curry bread. It was no use. No memories were brought back.
I sighed. What a bore.
Within a few moments, Claude and Sebastian had returned. They both had the stench of demon blood around them.
What had they been doing?
I frowned as I once again tried not to go to him. I watched as my master pushed past Claude and went over to Lady Elizabeth. They began to dance and I turned to the side to see Ciel.
“Would you care to dance?”
I smiled shyly, “I can’t dance, my lord.”
He smile and took my hand, “Perfect. Neither can I.”
We began to dance and I was immediately glad it was a slow dance that was fairly easy. Everything went smoothly until we began to dance right next to my master.
He shot a glare at me and Ciel and Ciel did the same towards him and Lizzy.
After a few moments, the dance stopped and Ciel bow to me before going over to dance with Elizabeth.
I sighed and ducked my head at my master’s angry glare.
