The gang waited in the limo for the 20-minute car ride. The men were dressed in suits, while the women wore elegant dresses—Carol in a somber blue, Pepper in white, Natasha in black, and Wanda in a sunny yellow.

Wanda nestled her head on Pepper's shoulder, her small fingers tapping away at the games on Pepper's phone. Her mouth was slightly open, completely absorbed in the game.

Natasha glanced over at Wanda, a soft smile on her face. She admired how Wanda found solace in these small, comforting moments. Her heart ached for the girl, who was still adjusting to a world so different from her own.

When the call interrupted the game, Wanda's pout deepened, and she looked up at Pepper with disappointment. Natasha noticed and gently placed a hand on Wanda's shoulder. "Don't worry, sweetie. We'll find something fun to do later," she reassured her.

As they arrived at the restaurant, Tony held the door open, ushering everyone inside. Wanda, feeling a wave of unease with the bustling environment, instinctively sought comfort and pressed close to Natasha.

Steve, ever attentive, helped Natasha and Wanda to their seats. As he pulled out Natasha's chair, he noticed the slight tremor in Wanda's hands. He felt a pang of sympathy for her; the world outside her familiar bubble was still overwhelming.

The group settled at a long wooden table covered in brown paper. Wanda's eyes darted around, taking in the array of unfamiliar faces and noises. Steve, seated next to her, offered a reassuring smile.

The waitress approached with menus and crayons, handing Wanda a kids' menu. Wanda's attention was immediately drawn to the colorful crayons, her anxiety momentarily replaced by curiosity.

"Do you know what you want, Wanda?" Steve asked gently. Wanda, still overwhelmed, shook her head.

Natasha leaned in, her voice soothing. "How about chicken nuggets? You can get a brownie for dessert if you eat well," she suggested with a smile.

Wanda nodded, her face lighting up at the mention of dessert. Natasha felt a small victory in making Wanda smile, her heart warming at the sight.

The waitress returned with drinks, placing Wanda's colorful cup in front of her. Wanda sipped the iced tea and went back to coloring, her small frown easing. Natasha watched with a mixture of relief and concern, grateful for these moments of normalcy amidst the chaos of Wanda's life.

Steve, sensing the need for distraction, grabbed a crayon and started drawing on the table. Wanda watched in fascination as Steve's doodles took shape. "It's your move," he said, pointing to a tic-tac-toe grid.

Wanda looked up at Steve, puzzled. Steve explained the game patiently, and Wanda's eyes sparkled with understanding. She took her turn, and Steve let her win, chuckling as he did so. His heart ached a little seeing how easily she found joy in such simple things.

As the food arrived, Wanda hesitated, her plate of nuggets barely touched. Steve noticed her reluctance and gently encouraged her to try a bite. "Come on, Wanda. You've got to try them. They're really good," he said, his tone encouraging.

Wanda took a bite, her expression softening. The team observed her closely, noting the contrast between her current enjoyment of food and her past reluctance. Natasha's heart swelled with a mix of sadness and hope, seeing Wanda's small but significant steps towards feeling secure.

When the waitress mentioned the drawing on the table, Steve took the opportunity to engage Wanda further. He drew alongside her, explaining the game of tic-tac-toe with enthusiasm. Wanda, now fully engaged, followed his lead, her earlier unease fading.

As the evening wound down, Steve lifted Wanda onto his hip, her small head resting against his shoulder. Wanda's eyes grew heavy, and she yawned, her earlier excitement replaced by fatigue. Steve felt a deep sense of responsibility and protectiveness as he held her close.
