15. Show Time Pt. 1

A/N

Well, HIIIII this is more of a filler chapter and it has one of my favorite scenes from the film Phillip is apart of. Hehehe enjoy everybody!

"Phillip? and Y/n?" Paul had questioned.

"Hey! How's everything?" You asked him politely.

"Paul, don't you have somewhere to be? Like anywhere else but here." Phillip rolled his eyes making his way to open the passenger door for you.

"Oh right, you mean anywhere else but the lawn of our house? I suppose not. And to answer your question y/n everything has been good, thank you for asking." Paul smirked. "Hm. So is this like a thing now?" He added.

You and Phillip both responded at the same time.

"No."

"Mind your business."

"Well... Have a great day." Paul smiled and went on his way.

You could say the short ride to work was a little awkward from your different responses just then. You didn't know what to say, you didn't know if there was anything to say. Was this situationship with Phillip considered a thing? Did he consider it a thing? Before getting out of the car you thanked Phillip and gave him a light kiss on the cheek just to ease things a bit.

Walking into work you saw there was a crew of people making arrangements for tomorrow's event. You greeted everyone and started working away.

"Honey, the planner guy is here to talk some things over. We're really grateful you decided to help us out with this. We trust you and it's best if someone younger who keeps up with the times takes this task at hand." Lucy said to you.

"Trust me, it's no trouble and I am more than glad to help you guys with this. Do you know his name by any chance?" You asked.

"No dear. I only know the author's name. Liana Westbrook. Other than that I don't know anyone else's name... am I supposed to?" She giggled

"I guess I should be the one who should know their names seeing as I'm taking charge of this. Don't worry about a thing I've got it handled." You reassured her placing a hand on her shoulder.

You walked out to the lobby and saw a vaguely familiar face.

"So is being a doctor not enough that you had to go ahead and have a side job as an event coordinator?" You asked.

"Wow! I honestly didn't think I would ever see you again. You know I gave you that card for a reason." His hand reaching towards you.

You shook his hand. "I guess it's fate."

"I'm doing my sister a favor and helping her out with this. She's worked really hard and I guess I just want things to be perfect. So... shall we get started?" He gestured towards the table.

The planning for how tomorrow should go down went smoothly, most of the discussion was some last-minute things such as catering, the media aspect of the release, and a bunch of small minor details that weren't necessarily too important. Wells was a nice guy, after talking business you guys chatted for a little bit and got to know each other. He almost reminded you of Lexie. You thought it would be best to maybe one day introduce them to one another, they would really get along.

On your way home after work, you stopped by Vincenzo's bakery to ask him if he would be able to cater for tomorrow's event, and he gladly agreed and expressed how grateful he was that you thought of him to help you out. You had quickly gone over with him an estimated amount of how many people would attend and he reassured you he's got it covered.
