The Field Trip [1]

Nerves were high inside of the gryffindor dormitory, Harry was finishing up his packing and so were his peers. Hermione had given him 3 lists so he could double and triple check that he had everything and would be ready.
Of course he ignored the lists and just packed 2 sets of clothes as well as pajamas, this trip would only be for one night, he didn't need 6 pairs of socks.
Maybe a quill or two. But not his entire closet.

He side eyed his invisibility cloak, but let it stay seated on his bed. Surely he could survive one night without it.
He zipped up his bag just as there was a knock on the door

"Cmon harry! We are gonna be late!" Came Hermione's voice from the other side, "Coming! Just give me a minute" He kneeled down and tied his shoes then slung his bag over his back and opened the door.

Hermione was right outside of it, tapping her foot impatiently "there you are, what took you so long?"
"Sorry Mione, I slept in" Harry said, rubbing the back of his neck

She scoffed and flicked his forehead "figures you would, perhaps I should start sending you a howler every morning, that should get you up quickly."
Harry chuckled a bit, "yeah it definitely would"

"Now c'mon, we're going to be late, we have to all gather in the courtyard by 9 o'clock sharp!"
"Alright Mione," Harry said as he adjusted his grip on his bag, "Where's Ron?"
"He's already there waiting for us"
"He is?"
"Well don't sound so surprised, unlike you, he actually made an effort to wake up early and be on time"
Harry let out a small awkward laugh and closed the door, exiting the Gryffindor dormitories and making his way to the courtyard with Hermione at his side.

When they got there, Harry started looking around for Ron and his girlfriend, wondering where they were amongst the crowd of 5th years.
Surely two red headed gryffindors couldn't be that hard to find

As his eyes were scanning the crowd, "Hey harry!" a voice came from behind him
He quickly turned around and smiled when he saw Ron walking toward him, his arm stretched high in the air and waving from side to side
Ginny was right behind him, looking at Harry with a sweet smile

Harry got a bit hot and his cheeks turned slightly red, "Hey Ron, Hey Gin"
Ginny went over to him and hugged him, he hugged back and she kissed his cheek, causing a dorkish grin to spread across his face.

Ron looked like he wanted to say something but Hermione just shook her head at him, he bit his lip and stayed silent, but wasn't happy about it.

he grumbled to himself and crossed his arms, Harry looked at him "you okay Ron?"
"Fine." He mumbled angrily, his expression was pouty and resembled that of a small child who didn't get what they want

"Ron, you're 15. The least you can do is act like it" Hermione said, putting her hands on her hips.
"I refused to grow up" he concluded, causing Harry to chuckle slightly and Ginny to roll her eyes playfully.

The couple laughed and then smiled at each other, Ginny brushed the hair out of Harry's face which made him blush slightly, she closed her eyes and started leaning in, which made Harry's face turn red as a tomato, his eyes widened in surprise, her lips were getting closer to his and he was becoming very flustered.
While the two may be dating, their relationship has been slow and they haven't had their first kiss yet.

Before their lips could connect, "Harry! Hermione! Ginny! Ron!" Said a particularly Airy voice, coming closer to them, Ginny leaned back and looked at her friend and smiled, "Hey Luna"

Harry looked to the side at Luna, not knowing whether to be upset or relieved, Ron however didn't have to pick which one of the two he was.

"Aren't you guys excited for the field trip!" The ravenclaw smiled, "I grew up in Catchpole with my dad! So I'll get to see him!"
"That's great Luna!" Ginny let go of Harry and faced Luna with a smile.
Hermione stepped forward, "Oh, was that you in class?"

"Mhm! I didn't mean to interrupt Professor Mcgonagall but I got excited" she admitted, rubbing the back of her neck.
"Well, I'm sure it's okay" Ginny said, "She didn't get upset"

Luna smiled happily, "Thanks for reassuring me, but I'm fine! I've made sure to keep away the wrackspurts"
"Oh? Why don't you tell me about them?"
Luna smiled and began chatting with Ginny in her usual Airheaded tone, Ginny listens intently and keeps an interested smile on her face, while Hermione tries to keep a kind expression but it is obviously a very awkward one.

Harry and Ron stand off to the side, watching the girls talk, they sigh and look at each other, knowing they may be here awhile.
"Well Bloody Hell, Thank Merlin for Luna, she made sure you and Ginny didn't start snogging"
Harry looked at Ron, "Ron. We've been dating for months, you said you were okay with it"

"Yeah! But that doesn't mean I want to SEE it! You could at least wait until I'm not here, I don't want you two kissing in front of me"
Harry blushed and shook his head, "Alright, we'll keep it away from you"
"Thank you." Ron smiled, Harry just nodded in response "no problem."

They looked back at the three girls, who were giggling and becoming giddy, "Ah woman, I'll never understand them" Ron crossed his arms
"Yeah, me neither" Harry agreed

Ron sighed "I'm bored"
"What do you want me to do about it?""
Ron shrugged, and looked around "talk about non girly things with me"
Harry just rolled his eyes and turned his head away. He noticed Malfoy talking to his lackeys, they had hands cupped over their mouths and were whispering in each other's ears, strange...

"Harryyyyyy" Ron whined, "don't ignore me!"

"God, you're so needy." Harry said, looking back at Ron with an unamused expression, Ron smiled "but you loveeee me"

"I do and I don't understand why." Harry crossed his arms, Ron just chuckled and smiled a silly smile,
The three girls started to laugh in unison, Harry blushed and stared at Ginny while Ron just blinked, followed Harry's gaze and then looked back at him, "whatcha looking at?"

Harry didn't answer, drool dropped slightly from the corner of his mouth, and Ron wiped it away with the sleeve of his robe, "Harry? Are you dead?"

Ginny looked at Harry, and smiled mid laugh then went back to giggling with the other two girls, Harry's head turned bright red, and Ron sighed. "Yup. He's dead. Guess I'm alone now" he made a fake sobbing sound, but Harry didn't even look at him, he was too focused on the radiant beauty of the one and only, Ginny Weasley.

He loved her beauty and her grace, the elegance her tone held, her smile that shined brighter than the sun, the shining locks of red hair that reflected the sun making her look even more like a goddess.
He loved everything about her and nothing could ever change that.
