Welcome to chapter 2! I'm so glad you're here.
———————————————————————"Yo, what the hell is wrong with you?"
I have never been so angry in my entire life. One moment Im enjoying life, listening to a man who sounds like an angel and the next thing I know Im dripping in a strawberry smoothie.
I heard a chuckle coming from behind so I turned to see who dumped that shit on me.
"Oh my god! Carly I told you! Oh shit this is so funny," I heard Zeke, the school bitchboy, who was now clenching his stomach and laughing like he had just seen himself in the mirror.
Carly, his girlfriend, and the head member of the royalty, was looking at her foot-long nails while smirking.
I never really talked to her, but I now had a personal vendetta against her and her stupid boyfriend.
"YOU! YOU ARE GOING TO PAY FOR THIS, DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?" I screamed, loud enough for everyone nearby to stop talking.
"Jeez Natalie it was just a smoothie. Chill out,"Zeke said, as if he did not just drench me head to toe without a reason.
"Are you fucking kidding me? Chill out? I didnt even talk to you until now and you just dump a smoothie on me! What did I even do to you?"
"Relax, it was a dare."
"You are so dead Zeke, Im going to have my revenge soon," I said while I grabbed my bag and headed inside the school.
So much for a grand departure.
I made my way to the bathroom to take all of the dry smoothie out of my hair.
"My beautiful hair..."
Zeke is going to pay for this and God is my witness. Big guy, make sure to send that bitchass and his girlfriend to Hell.
"Here, I have some extra tissues that might help," an oddly masculine voice came from behind, considering I was in the girls bathroom.
I looked through the mirror to see a ruggedly handsome guy. Damn, the boys at this school were FINE.
"Um, thanks," I grabbed some large tissues from him, "am I in the right bathroom though?"
He chuckled, "Yeah you're in the girls bathroom. I just hang out here since its way more cleaner than the boys one. They smell like shit."
He scratched the back of his ear which took my attention to the dangly earring in his right ear. SO SEXY.
"Im Taylor, by the way,"he said extending his hand.
"Im Natalie. Thanks for helping me out. I really appreciate it."
"Hey, no problem. Zeke is a real asshole anyways."
I smiled at him through the mirror, finishing up cleaning all the smoothie stains on my shirt.
After thanking him once again, I made my way to English.
I really liked English, considering the fact that Ive written a manuscript for a book. Have I forgotten to mention that? Yes? Good, because I never mention my book.
My book has been rejected by all publishers in town and I have lost all hope of bringing it to life. I have been trying to get it published by many agencies since the past six months, and have written god knows how many drafts, but its never good enough. Its never going to be.
I call it "Irrevocable Love." Pretty cool, eh?
Its the story of two teens, Alexis and Chicago. Theyve been living on the same street all their life but the only thing that they have in common is skateboarding. They meet on a rink and Chicago decides that it will be his lifes mission to teach Alexis how to skateboard. This is when they really start to get to know each other. Their romance is pretty straightforward but its their feelings for each other that are too complicated.
"Love is never meant to be easy, but Im willing to go through all hardships if I get to love you,"will always be my favourite line from the book.
The book was always such a big part of me. It still is, I guess. But now, Ive lost all hope of seeing it come to life because no one thinks its worth giving a chance. My mom tells me to move on, and focus on the other good things in life but how can I when the only good thing in life, which gave me hope was the story of Lex and Chicago.
It was my dream to get "Irrevocable Love" into the hands of every single teen in the world, but now the only person whos going to know about it is me.
And thats ok.
Some things just arent meant to be and I have come to terms with it.
"Ms. Campbell, are you with us?"
A voice cuts me out of my thoughts as I see my English teacher, Ms. Matthews stare into my eyes.
"Yes, Ms. Matthews. I promise I will pay attention."
"Good. Because if you dont, Im not going to write your recommendation letter to the Oxford Admissions Office."
Damn you, bitch. Every time someone mentions Oxford to me, all my senses are heightened. The fact that shes holding my dream school over me makes me want to scream.
Finally, the bell rings. I rush out to go to my counsellor because she texted me earlier saying that she wanted me to meet someone. I was guessing it was either a prospective publisher or an Oxford student.
I knock on her office door and make my way in.
"Oh, Natalie, good youre here," she says with a smile.
"You wanted me to meet someone?"
"Ah yes, hes a student from your grade and wants to apply to Oxford as well. I figured since you both had your sights set on that school, you could help each other out."
That was great news! Finally someone who understood my love for the university.
"Amazing! Who is he?"
"He's"- she began, but was interrupted with a knock.
"Im so sorry Im late Ms. Martin. I was stuck in French."
Wait a damn minute...
"Oh Maddox, good youre here. This is Natalie. Shes the one I told you about."
Out of all the people in the world, Nerd Boy Maddox?
Really?
