I stand here looking up at the person I had admired for as long as I remembered. You could hear the leaves off the trees shaking off in the distance. I stood there in the park; surrounded by trees and flowers for miles. The sun had reached the highest point in the sky. This place was the best place I could have ever thought of to confess my feeling to them.
"I like you." I blurt our trying to calm my nerve
They put their hand on my shoulder and ask me "since when?"
I think back to the first day I ever saw them, the way they walked into the class. Their shoulder length hair flows from the slight breeze. Their unique sense of fashion; their overall vide was absolutely immaculate. All these things adding into how much I wanted to talk to them.
That day was the first day of the new semester, and the first day i have ever wanted to talk to someone so badly in my life. They ended up sitting in the front row next to the teacher, I however was in the furthest back corner next to the entrance of the room. I barley paid attention to the lesson just thinking how I would kill to be able to talk to them.
The bell rang throw out the empty halls, as they fill with students on their was to the short 10 minutes break before the next class. I used this opportunity to make my move. I walk to where they had sit, making my way through the bunch of kids heading out to who knows where.
"Hi, are you new here?" I ask as my voices tone was slightly higher then normal.
"Yeah." They day in a short breath avoiding my gaze.
For what ever reason they had done so was beyond me. All this did was make me more curious as to their story.
"Hey I'm grey, that's what everyone calls me anyways" I say chuckling a bit from the dumbest nickname anyone could possibly give.
After waiting for the response that never came I decide to break the silence myself. "So what's your name?"
"Jay" they say in a same tone as the previous answer.
Jay, that's such a nice name. "So I'm assuming you don't have any friends?"
They shake their head in response. I put my hand on their shoulder and give the the warmest smile I could.
"Then that means I'll have to show you around!"
"If you don't mind," They respond. Three more words then their other response, this has to be progress somehow.
The bell rings to the next class right after I had showed them their next class. The only classes we had together after comparing our schedule was the first period of the day and last. That's fine I'll see them at lunch after all. Or so I thought.
The bell rang out for lunch after the classes that had gone on for far to long. I knew where there last class was to I had headed over, I looked around and I couldn't find them anywhere. Lunch is 30 minutes, I had wasted 5 getting here, I wonder where they could be. I proceed to spend the next 20 minutes of lynch searching. Only giving up at the last 5 to try to get some food before the break was over. I've always had a large appetite to the point where if I don't eat at lunch I can't focus in the next class. What was the next class again? Oh that's right, it should be the last class of the day.
The bell goes off and I can't wait to see them again in the next class, this has to be the most excited I've ever been for a class. I walk through the crowded hallway to the long awaited final period. I take my seat and wait for them to show up. They never did.
The bell rang for school to be over, where were they? Did they get hurt? I knew I should've exchanged number while I had the chance. My mind was filled with worries, never in my life have I ever wanted to know more about someone. I've never had a particular friends group from lack of interest in being social. This time was different, I wanted to know more about them.
