CHAPTER ONE
"Hello is anyone there?" boomed the voice of the stranded space commander. Billy, my younger brother, gasped with excitement. I sighed, why did Mum make ME take him to the cinema?! At least the popcorn tasted nice! I grabbed a hand full and shoved in my mouth. I wish I had gone round April's house now! I've known my best friend April since we were born, we've got the same birthday!
Then I noticed that the lights were on and everyone was leaving, discussing the boring film they'd just watched. Billy was grabbing my hand, trying to pull me towards the exit.
"Come on, Bella!" he said exhaustively, like he had been waiting for ages.
"Alright, alright, coming!" I gasped, pulling myself up from my chair and slipping my jacket on.
"Hurry up! Everyone's leaving and Mum said after this you can take me round to Ben's!" Billy gabbled. That's the problem with little brothers, they're annoying and they just won't stop!
"Did she," I sighed, letting Billy tug me over to the automatic doors at the front of the cinema. We headed towards Ben's (which is typically on the other side of town!) and walked through the park. Some of Billy's class mates were kicking around a muddy, battered, rank old football.
"Pass to me!" shouted Billy, sprinting towards them excitedly. One of them (which I'm pretty sure is called Jake) booted the ball over to him, a little too hard and it came down in a muddy puddle, right in front of me!
"Billy we're going home!" I exclaimed, angry that my new white jacket had been ruined, by that disgusting football! I started storming off so fast that Billy had to run to catch up with me. I got out my awesome, purple phone out and text Mum:A football made my jacket muddy, it'll probaly stain, can you ground Billy please :D
I was about to put my phone away, but it buzzed, I was confused at first, but realised that Billy must have been on my phone and turned it on to vibrate. Great! It was a text from April: Hey, wondering if you were free, have you been to the cinema yet? xx
I replied: Yeah, it was really boring and I'm about to get home, I'll text you if I'm free xx
I put my phone in my shorts pocket. Then it started to rain. I sprinted then, and started up my street, I could hear Billy's clumping footsteps behind me. I reached our drive when Billy tried to sprint past me, but I was no way going to let my little pest of a brother win! I sped up and, not looking where I was going, slammed into the front door, ironically ringing the doorbell! I bounced off and sat on the ground stunned. Billy ran to my aid, surprisingly!
"Bella, are you OK?" he asked, worried. I stood up, blank. Then I shook myself back to reality.
"Yep, I'm fine, I think!" I replied, putting my hand it my forehead because I suddenly had a splitting headache. That'll have to wait, Mum just answered the door. I ran in and hugged her, then realised that i just got her top wet.
"Oops!" I said glumly.
"Oh well, I'll put it in the tumble dryer. Give me your top and I'll wash it," she replied calmly.
"But it's ruined!" I exclaimed as Billy darted past me, to get up the stairs to his messy bedroom.
"It'll come out in the wash, I promise!" said Mum rolling her eyes, imitating me.
"OK!" I said, taking the jacket off and shoving it in her outstretched arms. "Oh and Mum... Am I free today?"
"Yes, but I thought Billy was going to Ben's?" Mum asked puzzled.
"Yeah, about that..." I said quickly, then ran out the door before I could be interrogated anymore.
